Hey, I know your a newsies fan, but someday there won't be s tour of newsies. It could be this year or in a million years. No one truly knows. So no one truly knows if newsies will be continuing."
Now I am really nervous"

No. The reference to the Ahmanson was because of plays (GGTL&M and Matilda) that are in their current season will be part of the next season in Costa Mesa.
It's also very likely that the Ahmanson will get Curious Incident and Fun Home, plus it looks like Curious Incident is playing Costa Mesa in 2016 and not 2017 - yay! Here's hoping we get Something Rotten soon?

The DPAC in Durham, North Carolina officially announces its season tonight, but they gave away all of the shows in a way too easy "clue video," haha. Amazing season!
I haven't seen the DPAC teaser video, but if that is the season, I'll be pretty happy! The Bodyguard is the only one I'm not excited about, but keeping an open mind. I'm also surprised Kinky Boots and Newsies are coming back as "extras" so soon after their first stop here.
I hope that The Ahmanson produces or imports a new work - much like they've done in recent seasons with ACT OF GOD and FOLLIES - my patience for second rate bus and truck tours in slowly coming to an end.
With that being said, while The Pantages might be the worst theater that I am aware of - its a friggin barn - I will see THE BODYGUARD because, heck, it's Whitney -and I missed it when I was in London

I checked the tour dates for "Something Rotten," on its web site. Looks like it's not coming to SoCal this season. :- (
I've noticed that shows often hit the Pantages or Ahmanson, the Segerstrom, and San Diego during the same season, sometimes back-to-back. Occasionally, they'll hit the Fox in Riverside as well or the McCallum (Palm Desert), for one or two shows. Although the Fox and McCallum frequently duplicate each other - they're about an hour apart - I don't recall any show that has hit all five in one season.
I still can't believe that LA rarely, if ever, gets standalone Broadway musicals any more. I know POTO opened here for a lengthy run a year or two after the Broadway opening. JCS ran a non-clone production during the 1st Broadway run that I don't think was a tour. Recently, there's been little comparable.
Toronto and Chicago can support long runs, but in SoCal, we only have a pale imitation -- 90-minute versions in Las Vegas. Of course, they're not always "pale imitations" - the 6-year run of the 95-minute version of "Phantom" was superb. I really liked the absence of an intermission, because the Las Vegas version moved the chandelier crash to right before the final lair scene, where I think it fits much better. Still, I'd rather have long runs of unaltered shows in Los Angeles.
