Corden is wishy-washy in this interview, but seems to be leaning toward not hosting this year.

Still hoping that fate somehow puts Kroll and Mulaney on that stage...!

I find it curious that, unless I missed something, in 25 posts no one yet has suggested Bette Midler.

They should just get Rosie or Whoopi to host again. They were great the last time.

Anyone think Lin Manuel Miranda could be asked? He certainly has the popularity this year (still riding on Hamilton, a recent SNL host, Moana). Maybe a little busy with Mary Poppins though. Hmm?

I don't think LMM, popular enough or not, would not be the right choice for a host.

I am kind of bored of James Corden. I hope they go in a different direction

yeah I would also love to see Nathan Lane host again. I think its always better when they have Broadway vets hosting. Kristin and Alan were so fantastic 2 years ago!

I could see Lin presenting best score or musical. I'd love to see John Mulaney and Nick Kroll as their Oh Hello characters hosting.

I would LOVE this. I wonder if it has broad enough appeal though, and I fear the answer is no.

Lin-Manuel Miranda did say that he'll be in London until June, so I doubt his schedule would be flexible enough to host an awards show. Though I could see the producers of the Tonys wanting to have him on to present an award.
James Corden just hosted the Grammys last month, so I'm sure he wants some time off from that before deciding if he wants to host the Tonys for the second year in a row.
Stephen Colbert would be very convenient not only because of his late night talk show on CBS, but its filming location is only 8 minutes from Radio City Music Hall. Similar to how convenient it was for Jimmy Kimmel to host this year's Oscars.

I wouldn't mind this. Perhaps we could get a short Sunday performance from him.

??????I was hoping for Bette and Glenn to cohost. Could be fun, since Glenn hosted the last time Sunset was on Broadway.
Otherwise agree that a Laura Benanti + Colbert combination would be fun.

In my opinion, Billy Eichner is ready to start hosting award shows, and I think the Tonys would be an excellent fit. He has a strong connection to NYC, and he can sing. Also, he can do a special Broadway BILLY ON THE STREET segment, either prerecorded or live outside Radio City during the show!

Ugh I really hope it isn't Colbert. I find him almost as obnoxious as Rosie and Whoopie

I think Josh Groban would be a great host.

I think the two big star, non-nominees, Close and Gyllenhaal, would be fun.

When do you think they will announce who's hosting, and who's announcing the nominations?

Last year (2016), they announced Corden as host in very early February, and that Patina Miller and Andrew Rannells would announce nominations in mid-March. We're past both of those points in this calendar year, so there isn't a current precedent for this year... I hope we'll find out soon, though!
