seravance, thanks for the heads-up! Finally, "By the Sea," even if it isn't complete I really like Helena here. And it's so exciting to hear more of Jayne Wisener and Jamie Campbell Bower; their voices are lovely.
Thanks for posting this, these clips were great!!!
My quick thoughts:
* I loved J Depp's first reaction to the pie in the Behind the Scenes 1 video. That was unbelievable!
* I am interested to see how many lines/lyrics were changed. There were a lot in those few clips alone!
* I am a little concerned that too many of Sondheim's wonderfully clashing harmonies and counter-parts were taken out. In "Little Pries" Lovett sing unison with Sweeney (there should be harmony on that line). In "Pirelli's Elixir"... what happened to the crowds' vocal parts?!
Even though Toby and Lovett are different, I think I'll be able to get used to them. I do agree, however, with the person that said that it appeared that Toby wasn't connected during "not while I'm around." We'll see.
Without a doubt, these clips made me so excited to see the film!! I can't wait :)
I just watched the clips, and I gotta say I am very impressed by what I see. Of course it is a gorgeous looking film, as all tim burton films are. toby singing no while I'm around is just heartbreaking. I loved that fact that toby is a child. Makes me question the intensity of the end. Assuming, they use the stage ending. Still not convinced with Johnny and Helena's voices, but they look great. The real shocker I think is going to be Sasha baron Cohing, he hams it up, and it's fabulous
I am trying to not watch any clips until I see the film just so that when I see it I see EVERYTHING for the first time and get to experience everything for the first time in context, but DAMMIT its so hard.
But I love that the clips are getting such good feedback here!
