I wonder if this could take the Al Hirschfeld theatre from Kinky Boots https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/A-BRONX-TALE-Musical-Takes-First-Step-Toward-Broadway-20160518

I saw this in February and felt it was no where near ready for a Broadway run without some reworking. It was kind of blah with the exception of a the performance of young C. All in all it was decent for a regional production but far from a decent show for Broadway.

I saw the final performance and think it was much better than most new musicals that have opened on Broadway in the last few years.

I'm really surprised they are moving forward with this- it was neither bad nor good- it was just forgettable, which is the worst thing to be my opinion

Do you think there's a chance Nick Cordero will leave his thankless role of the boorish husband in WAITRESS and return to A BRONX TALE? Hope so. I'd much rather see him in the latter.

Depends. Waitress might be a thankless role, but it's a hit show and seems like it will run for awhile. And A Bronx Tale seems like it will be hit or miss and more than likely a miss.

Yes, it needed work especially in Act II, but at the state it was in, Bronx Tale was much better than the bland, boring Waitress. Cordero would do himself a favor and ditch that Waitress role for a musical that shows off his talent. I'm sure he would go with Bronx Tale.
P.S. I'm surprised that Waitress is doing so well. It is so horribly ordinary and sleep inducing with a score that runs together and almost becomes one long, lulling lullabye.

This project has the hubris of an A-list team and a fully capitalized bank account. It was always coming to Broadway, shortcomings be damned. And with no clear favorite next season, they like their chances.

Replace Gotay and they'll be in better shape. Great score.

Maybe my newfound infatuation with Bobby Conte Thornton is blinding me, but I just see a good time.. what's turning you off about it?

Skipped this at Papermill but I think it looks fun. I don't see it doing too well but I think it'll catch some of the Jersey Boys crowd

I wouldn't say I am turned off by it. I just don't see anything that makes me want to buy a ticket.
