AIDA - my production! *UPDATED*(pictures/videos inside!!)

Hey everybody! so i know this may not be interesting to some but i thought i might share anyways! My high school just finished the first production of AIDA done by a high school in canada! My father directed it and we had the most talented cast!
Most people will roll their eyes and groan when people hear about high school musicals but this one was amazing.
we had 12 shows and each was sold out! We had 500 seats and 12$ a ticket, so it was quite a success! What an amazing experience the show was! Our costumer had graduated a couple years prior and now works on movies! so he was creating the most amazing costumes! im very sad to be finished it now but its nice to have a break after working on it non stop since november!
anywho i have some pictures posted! they are all quite big but it gives you an idea of how amazing the show was!

FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! we are very proud of this show! it was an amazing thing to have worked on!

Ok...

I have to say that the lighting looks great. Where you involved in the show? I will not judge that Aida was no African American I am all for color blind casting. I would love to hear how she sounds. I like how it does not look like a Broadway copy (unlike some I have seen). Amneris looks great as does Rademes (he is pretty hot also). I like how everyone has their hair- braided also. It adds to not using crap wigs.

Looks great for a High School show.
Two points:
How did you snag Uma Thurman for the show
and are high school boys that hairy now.

I liked the use of some of the Broadway look (particularly Amneris), but was impressed that your designer kept it fresh and different.

All in all it looks really cool.

hey thanks for the compliments!
i was involved in the chorus of the show and contributed a ton of ideas! (my father after all, directed it)
and yes, most people hate when white Aida's are on stage...but Shianna the Aida in the show was AMAZING beyond words! The Amneris and Radames were amazing as well...especially Radames!
There is a clip of "elaborate lives" on thats site that is not allowed to be mentioned...but would I be allowed to post it with the new guidlines to that site? We did pay for the rights to videotape it?

And yes, the lighting was AMAZING...i need to get the next disk of pictures uploaded! There was a silhouette ballet done in blue light for "easy as life" and it was just gorgeous!

she has a bit of an ashlee simpson nose...but she gets the "you look like uma thurman" comment A LOT!

does anybody have any objections to me posting the Elaborate lives clip from youtube?

i never posted the video yet, perhaps you watched the wrong one? here is the actual video (im hoping im not killed for this)
this is from the first night so it's not the best! Personally I believe this is not Shianne's (Aida) best song...but she can sing the hell out of all the other songs...she hits the end notes of Easy as Life and Dance of the Robe perfectly! (so be nice! haha)

no that was the one I watched. I did not think that Radames looks the same in the one picture as it does the guy in the movie.

that is radames i presume in the picture with his hands on Amneris.

Yeah Amneris reminded me of Uma Thurman. That production looks quite nice. Except I wish some high schools would see that Amneris doesn't have to look like Sherie all the time.

nope it was not Mereb
the director decided to add a couple shirtless guys into the scene to play with Amneris, so he doesnt have a name, that's something we did different in ours.

ohh this positive feedback is making me happy! im uploading some more pics and videos right now to post!
