Posted: 4/4/07 at 12:32amSee, to me, that Amneris looks like a hybrid between Uma Thurman and Julia Murney.

Did the boys have to take their shirts off for the auditions?
I know Equity frowns on that.

Posted: 4/4/07 at 1:02amhaha no they didn't, but it was decided at the last minute that they would go shirtless and some even had abs painted on, it was pretty funny! but it worked for the scenes!

Posted: 4/4/07 at 3:12amthe tempo at the end is waaaay slow in that clip, but their voices are pretty decent for high school kids... and I hate how much hotter high school boys have gotten in the past three years since I left. not a huge fan of the color blind casting since the show is pretty much all about that, but whatever. you gotta make due with what you have.

I just saw the North American Tour in Spokane, WA last week and based from the pictures you provided...it looked pretty amazing and true to the original broadway production.
Do you have any video or audio available?
Did you sing over the Cd or you had a different score.
I am not really familiar about HS productions though I used to be very active at church productions where we used performance tracks.
Thanks for sharing and Good luck to all of you!
I love naked guys :P

Well, it was Canada right? I know they don't get a lot of sun up there. But I have to echo some comments about the lighting, which looks great, better than a lot of high school and community productions. Ditto about the decision to go with the braids, and you certainly had an excellent all around 'look'.
Tell us more about these painted on abs, though. I tried to add a six pack once but Budweiser sued me for trademark infringements. I'm sure CurtainDownPuller would appreciate seeing a series of stages from the makeup room
It's ok, post them, nobody else will look. [cross fingers] I *promise* [/uncross fingers]

Looks great for a high school.
I wish my choir teacher would just suck it up and do this show... I've seen it twice and have loved it each and every time.

You did a good job. I agree that the tempo in "Elaborate Lives" felt funrereal. It was way too slow. I played Mereb in a production of Aida about a year ago. Here's some songs.

Posted: 4/4/07 at 1:49pm^ not to be mean but I really did not like your production of Aida from the clips I watched. It reminded me of something I would have done at JCC Camp along time ago.
