well-
i guess everyone on these boards are bullies.
Because at some point or another ALL of you got bitchy about someone or some thing.
Look at EVERY SINGLE thread on this board and someone will pop up with some sense of sarcasm and negative wit with a condescending tone or a holier than thou attitude like your poop don't stink.
You can all go back and hide in your dark corners making civilization a vile, self hating place. shame on you all. you're all haters. Haters gonna hate!
so, what did you think of Patti Lupone in ....... ?

This is sort of the way of the world, now. If someone gets a soggy ice cream cone at the Dairy Queen, they go on-line and complain about it. I work a dumb job that isn't important, but there's always a possibility that someone will go on-line and complain about their interaction with me.
This kind of whining seems especially silly coming from someone who has chosen a career performing for the public.
He's certainly got a right to defend himself, but it seems comes off worse for it.
WHAT WINSTON SAID WAS NOT BULLYING. Don't make light of the term "bullying." Kids are being seriously bullied every day, and in some cases leading to death. Adam should know better, and so should you. There was NO bullying in Winston's thread.

use their words anonymously as tools to make others feel bad, so they can feel good, you will never feel good
one of these chatroom bullies happened to be in the audience and was obviously frothing at the mouth to get home and blast away at me. "I cant remember lines", I'm not professional", "they feel bad for me"..blah blah blah.
Show us one thing Winston said about Adam that rivals that.

I think He has every right to say what he is saying. This board gets really nasty when it comes to performers. Look at how you guys treated Karen Olivo and Elena Roger! Some of you need to step back and remember that Broadway performers are humans and not just toys you can knock around whenever you want!
^ You weren't even around here when Karen Olivo was being criticized and trashed constantly.
This board definitely gets nasty. At other times. Not this time.

I know for a fact that there are several posters on this board who can do what he does and already have.
Well, if poor victim Adam Pascal considers this as whimpering:
"You, will undoubtedly stew in your own unhappiness and dissatisfaction with life.."
"The truth is, you could never in a million years do what it is we do 8 times a week. You would step out on stage and piss your pants."
"You need to feel bad for yourself for being the kind of person who gets off on trying hurt others."
Then he did some grade-A whimpering.
Does this board get nasty? Uh, YEAH. And no one is innocent of it.
But in this situation? No. In fact, Winston's thread probably would've sunk to the last page and been forgotten had Pascal not decided to see how the world was thinking of his performance.

Also -- isn't learning your lines part of what the paycheck is about? And don't the tickets we pay for give us a right to gripe when the performance is not worthy of $140 a pop?
I'm embarrassed for him. He's bringing about unnecessary attention to himself for something he should have just rolled his eyes at and moved on.

Yes i was, i just didn't have an account yet but i watched from the sidelines. Plus its not hard to go look at the archives and see what was said. duh -_-
I still can't believe the horrible things said about Poor Karen during WSS. That doesn't even compare to the hate Elena got. You people are barbaric and treat performers like dirt sometimes. Shame on u

Bingo. He's really not looking good right now.

If we are that bad, then U should stop posting here. You are already on the borderline of being a troll.

Ya'll need to chill out. He was venting. He probably shouldn't have done it on facebook.
But really, now...all of us are anonymous posters of a message board. It's much easier to be on our side. Cut him some slack.

Im not going to stop posting just cause people are rude. NEWSFLASH: The whole world is rude!
I am NOT troll. I have made some good threads in the past and contribute to this board. Aren't you the fool who did a call out thread about me? PSSH only trolls do that. Trash...

"he's been doing the role of Billy Flynn for awhile now and should know how to cover a mistake instead of making it obviously noticeable. "
"I recall hearing some story, though I can't remember its source, that Pascal had issues with remembering lyrics in Rent. Something about lyrics being taped onto a table, and staging his song so he was always close enough to get to them, if needed."
"I vaguely recall reading something somewhere about how Pascal isn't the best when it comes to learning lines... To stop singing when it looks clearly like you're supposed to, doesn't look professional or good. He made himself look like he had no clue as to what he was doing up there."
I'm not saying Winston is to be singled out for bad behavior. He's a little part of a larger group.
Some folks on this board like to operate with a pile-on mentality. Makes them feel part of a bigger whole, I guess. One can say it doesn't rise to the level of bullying cruelty you see in our schools that scars kids for life (witness the movie BULLY for a demonstration of that kind of bullying). But the personal bad-mouthing of performers for sport is endemic on this board and I don't think Pascal is so wrong to call us out on it.

Actually, some of us are not anonymous and have been very honest about who we are.

I'm sorry. But these people get PAID to perform. It's their JOB. And we, as ticket-buyers and theatre-goers, PAY for their paychecks. It's not bullying. It's not "sport". It's our right as CONSUMERS.

Someone in a Tree2, you need to re-examine your definition of "bullying".

AND..you just proved my point, Troll.
He has every right to vent, I don't think anyone is suggesting otherwise (and yet dozens are reiterating this obvious realty, for some reason). However, it was simply foolish to publish that vent on the internet. I wouldn't have read the original post (and thus learned about Pascal's f'up) if it were not for this post.
Not to be crass, but sometimes words are just too apropos, and the word "dumbass" comes to mind.
^ I thought I made clear what constitutes bullying to me. But "personal bad-mouthing of performers for sport" can still be ugly and unmerited, even if you don't want to term it bullying.
iluvtheatertrash, Paying a performer doesn't automatically set them in a class apart where all manner of derogatory posting is OK. We pay lots of professionals (restaurant servers, hotel maids, university professors, doctors and nurses) without the kind of public review we give our broadway actors.
