The board has been down for almost a full day. Rumor is that it was hacked. I'd blame Spiderman for sure for obvious reasons.
What would Seth Rudetsky do?
There were some posts on Thursday (or Friday?) regarding security issues. I never saw a reply from the mods.
Definitely hacked, it's back up with the top post requesting no new posts:
"All That Chat has been hacked - please do not post.
All That Chat does not require Java or other programs installed on your computer to run - never authorize a requested download when on this site.
We recommend scanning your computer with an anti-virus program if you are unsure if a program has been downloaded.
If you aren't already running an anti-virus program, we recommend Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware which you can get at www.malwarebytes.org. It has a 30-day free trial you can use immediately."
As for why someone would hack it, anyone remember El Muhammed?
Aaaaaand we're down again!

Start a blog for his "reviews" so he can be one teensy weensy step closer to thinking he's a real critic?
I kid, I kid, Jesse21.
Every day it's down is like a present from God.

Really? If I had to choose b/w BWW and ATC, I'd pick ATC in a heartbeat. At least they weed out the children and repeat trolls. Sucks that anybody gets hacked, though.
I miss Vera.
Even with the cynics and children and cynical children of this board, it's less toxic than the environment over there.

That's why they make chocoate and vanilla, I guess, smaxie. I never see a gang mentality on ATC like I do here, banding together to attack a singular poster or make fun of disabled posters. Or endless pointless threads making fun of other threads. Or trolls that come back to disrupt intelligent discourse year after year under different names. I find BWW far more toxic than ATC.
At the very least, it IS reliably about broadway, and personal attacks are not allowed there.

That is, unless you're a longtime/established poster...in which case, you can pretty much say whatever you want without fear of deletion.

I enrolled there but never posted. When I tried to post something a long time later, I got a message that I was "banned" from the site. No reason given.
They weed out "the children" by using a format so archaic that only the over-60 crowd who gave up technology circa-Windows 98 can tolerate it.
^ LOL.
They are suggesting we scan our computer for viruses now.
"All That Chat will be offline until at least Tuesday, Jan. 12
If you have visited All That Chat in the last few days, please scan your computer with an anti-virus program. Avast, Malwarebytes and other programs are free or have a free trial period.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused."

I use Linux.
No problems for me.

Oh, really?
I've been on the internet since Windows 3.1 using dial-up.
Hardly someone who gave up technology circa-Windows 98.
Karma's a bitch, Ann.

They even work in a donation appeal!

Day Three - it still has the "do not click or post - it may harm your computer" warning.

Now they are begging for donations so they can afford a more secure server.
Screw them. They banned me for daring to ask about why someone else was banned.
