I just came back from this, extremely disappointed. Couldn't wait till it was over.

All I know is the score because I have the CD. The music is kind of forgettable. The only thing that sticks with me is the refrain "when I grow up." I figured it'd do marginal at best in the US and have been fairly surprised with the audience response. I'm curious to see it, and may check it out if it is still running next time I am in NYC.
No, you're not. Seems like plenty of people are expressing similar opinions in the many other threads about Matilda. I don't agree with you on any level, but you have a right to your opinion.
To quote Rose Vibert in Aspects of Love: "Don't call me LOVE"!
Well, to be honest I just wanted to quote Rose, but when bitter queens call me "love", it amuses me a bit. So, thanks! :)

You totally didn't like it?! What's wrong with you? You must be bitter!

As a fan of Bollywood film, the tour version of BOMBAY DREAMS was fantastic! I know the NYC production was a mess, especially with the addition of the American tourist characters that explained things to the audience. But the tour was great. I loved it. I'd love to see the OLC though. I know that the US tour was a highly condensed version of that 3 hour production.
DEclarke, I didn't mean to talk about Bombay Dreams on this thread, but I saw both the Broadway production and the National Tour and although they were both great, the Broadway production was far superior in every way. Glad you enjoyed the tour though!
blaxx, you're obsessed with me, and I appreciate the attention! Thanks.

I'm shocked that no one came in at night and complained about a new thread being started for a show that already had a thread. I guess it's only not allowed on BroadwayWorld if you disagree with the first post.
After Eight, I agree with you. But oh well, we'll see what happens, I truly don't wish any show to get bad reviews, I hope it does well and it opens forever, so it will be one Broadway theatre that will be occupied and I won't have to spend my hard earned $$$ on another crappy show. :)
With that said, everything else I've seen recently I really enjoyed (Kinky Boots, Last Five Years, Newsies and Passion)

I should have known that the word "disliked" would set off his radar and make him join the conversation. Negativity is to After Eight what cheese balls are to Honey Boo Boo.

Not at all. If it's ok for Jordan to do it, then it's ok for everyone.
Level playing field for all, and equal opportunity for all.

Muscle, that's the wisest comment I've ever read here. :)
