Posted: 8/22/04 at 10:34pmI was just listening to Kiss Me Kate on serius radio and Amy Spanger was on. I didnt realize how great she'd be as Elphaba till after. She sounds strangely similar to Idina and she's not that popular. I know she can act, she was in Chicago too. No, while I loved Amy in Kiss Me Kate every time I saw her, I found her to be less than excellent as Hope in Urinetown.
I don't think it would be that good, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

I haven't actually heard Amy Spanger, so I am making this judgement strictly on the idea that she played a role JLT did. Don't know if that means she is also capable of Glinda.

I think she would make a better Glinda. She can most definitely belt, and could probably sing both if she wanted too, but she's more of the Galinda type. I saw her in Chicago---such an amazing performer.
And for the record, Christiane Noll would make one hell of a Glinda.

I really despise Amy Spanger---and I hope she never ever steps into the role of Elphaba, Galinda or anyone in the show...She has the most annoying voice and in everything I've seen her in, I've wanted to shoot myself...I really really hope not!
Wasn't it bad enough that she took over as Hope in Urinetown?
