Are TDF ticket locations usually better if you pick up the tickets right before showtime, or earlier in the day?
Or are tickets assigned upon purchase?
Not sure when they are available for Angels in America, but most box offices seem to print them 1-2 hours before curtain and they're ready in an envelope with your name on it. I used to think they printed out the best seats for early arrivers, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

I just grab mine a half hour before curtain. Went early once and was told to come back after five. Show was at 7:00.
Ordered tickets for both parts 8 days in advance. Picked up my tickets around 5:15 for a 7:00 show. Tickets were already printed in an envelope with my name.
Got Mezz F 104 & 105.

Do they always give you the same seat for both parts?

From my experience I think the sooner you get your tickets when the drop on TDF, the better your seats will be. I'm assuming they have a list and the top names are those that bought first on TDF. With that being said for AIA I got front mezz J8, not great seats but definitely better than some I've seen posted here.
