Immediate response to the TV ad.---the principals in 'modern' clothes--wrong-face shot-OK.
Having seen the ART production:
Yes, the boys' roles were big enough to warrant a rotation, but I would think they would have a complete second set of boys rather than just two others. With the exception of Peter, almost all the boys appear together when they are seen, so unless they have cut down on their roles significantly, maybe they want another group. And they did all eight shows a week at the ART, no?
MaddieBB12, those are good points. You're right: George, Jack, and Michael were always together. Only Peter had extra and alone stage time. And all four boys did all eight shows a week at ART.
I wonder why Jeanna de Waal isn't doing the show on Broadway

I don't know if Jeanna chose not to continue or if she wasn't asked back, but I think staying in Kinky Boots is a much better choice. That show isn't closing anytime soon. There's no guarantee with a new show.
And chemistry-wise, it would probably be better to have two sets rather than two 'swings' (if that's the plan, have one new boy know the two younger roles, and the other new boy know the two older roles) because they are suppose to be brothers and would come off more as a team rather than have one feel a little out of place.
Not that chemistry is something being considered, but I think it's important.

Do we know who Teal Wicks is playing? Is she standing by for Laura?
^Or is she replacing de Waal? The casting announcement says nothing about the role of Mary Barrie.

Oh! I totally forgot about De Waal. Congrats Teal she was a great Elphie whatever part she is playing.
Yeah, I'm a little sad that the casting announcement doesn't mention the role of Mary Barrie. Nor which boy is playing which role. Nor who's playing Porthos. It's a very generalized announcement, isn't it.
I assumed Wicks would be playing de Waal's role, but who knows?

Yeah I assume Teal Wicks is replacing Jeanna.

Sad to see that Thayne Jasperson and Jeana de Waal are not contenting with the show. Both were great at the ART. I also wish the casting announcement was more specific!
Teal Wicks is indeed replacing Jeanna de Waal, though I wouldn't be surprised if she's also understudying Laura Michelle Kelly (probably uncredited).
Seeing this in previews soon, can't wait!!!!
The new commercial looks and sounds like a cruise ship commercial. But Paulus doesn't really do any better than cruise ship theater, and Weinstein is contemptuous, so who cares?

Wicks is playing Barrie - and they are doing an interesting rotations with the 4 boys roles.
To me, that rotation sounds absolutely ridiculous. How does everyone else feel about it?
I have no idea how that rotation is going to work, or why they are doing it that way.
Everything about this production just seems so ludicrous.
I would be REALLY interested to know why they chose this rotation. Not beause I'm assuming it doesn't make sense or have good reasons -- I don't work on Broadway, there are millions of things I don't know about it -- but just because, as a fan, the logic of this is not instinctive to me. As opposed to having four Matildas, which always made sense to me. I'm assuming they have their reasons, I just feel curious (nosy!) to know what those are.
I feel like it is one thing to have multiple people share one part; the Matildas, Michael and Jane Banks, Gavroche, Young Cosette, and Young Eponine are always done that way (yes, Young Eponine and Young Cosette are often shared as well, but Young Eponine doesn't speak and it's not like learning a whole new show), but to have them all learn 3 parts??? What's the point? It just makes a lot more work for the boys and a lot more room for confusion.

It is odd esp since the boys did 8 shows a week at the ART. It would have made sense to have two additional boys to each cover two roles, but the rotation is weird.

What happened to the CD featuring Rita Ora and Matthew Morrison?

It makes no sense because the producer won't listen to anyone. Doomed.
That ridiculous child rotation will give Stage Managers, Dressers and Wranglers a stroke.
