Has anyone else noticed that the singers and even the people speaking dialog at Floyd Collins- are barely comprehensible. They talk and sing- with way too much styling- almost all of them- that I could barely hear 80 per cent of the show- due to poor articulation. I saw Purpose- every syllable was clear- loved it- BUENA Vista Social Club- every moment clear and one of my all-time favorite shows ever!!!- but Floyd Collins- missed the show- and was there the entire time- lol. Anyone have this experience?
No, that was not my experience. I sat all the way off to the side and I could hear and understand everything perfectly. One of the best sound designs of the year, and a uniformly excellent cast.
I’d also agree about the excellent sound design - I sat about ten rows back center orchestra and heard everything.
I was in the center mezzanine, fourth row in, had no issue understanding any of the dialogue or lyrics.
I also had no sound issues. Sat center orchestra towards the left (great view of Jeremy Jordan.) I heard every word clearly. Overall I thought there actors enunciated their spoken words very well.
Some early posts in this thread noted that the sound design was muddled, but I attended one of the final preview performances and had no trouble understanding the lyrics.
I attended last month with very little familiarity with the score and had no issue understanding the lyrics or dialogue.

I guess it was just me then. Thank you everyone for your input- I guess- for whatever reason- I had a really hard time at this show.

Didn't really have a problem but the were a few times I had to really listen intensely. Most of it was clear. Great show. It deserved a bigger audience, IMO.

I sat upstairs and heard everything clearly.
I wish this had been extended, I would love to have seen it again.
