I am happy people are booking jobs. I heard Jenna is Nesserose on the tour.
Why am I hearing the twilight zone music in my head? I'm crossing my fingers this is true! Though goodness only knows where I'd actually get to see her do the role. Toronto in March? Brrrrr....
The fabulous Jesse Vargas will be playing Clay Aiken's 5 week Christmas tour.
And Damon is conducting, yes? I'm way more excited about this than I should be! Of course MoG and I won't be able to actually see them from our nosebleed seats up in the rafters, which I had to sacrifice sleep to get which made me cranky and unhappy with the fanatical Clay fans (I can't imagine this obsessing over some boy just because he sings... oh... never mind). I might have to invest in a pair of binoculars.
Do you think I can pay attention to Clay with Damon and Jesse onstage? I think not! After all the legwork we've done promoting Bare, the least they can do is get us better seats to stare at them. Hee!
Why was everyone freaked out about their PM's earlier? Is there something to be alarmed about, or wait Trisky you just said you were freaking out in general did I miss something like ususal?
You didn't miss anything, I think we were all freaking out about different things at one time!

I did not know that he was conducting???? Now I am seriously reconsidering going to this with my friend who just asked me the other day, and I just laughed it off, but of course I told her that Damon was involved with it and got the usual who? reponse, but anyway now I am rethinking the whole thing, but I don't know if I can stand a whole Clay Aiken concert, I barely know one song, but in the name of Bare it just may be worth it?

He's singing Christmas music! Unless he's written all new Christmas Carols you'll probably be able to follow along. LOL
Duh, I am soooo dense sometimes, Christmas tour, you would think I would check these things before posting I was just too excited to hear about Damon and Jesse. Well, anyway I guess this is good news, I did semi-like him on American Idol, for me he was the anti-Ruben!!

andyf - I am sure someone who as heard more of the music can give a more detailed explanation for you, but I am not sure if you saw this short description on Playbill.com, but this is what they wrote about it:
Easter Rising, according to a spokesperson, concerns a married couple with a teenage son. Upon learning that he is dying, the father takes his son on a road trip to meet his former college roommate. The musical concerns the love shared between the two college friends, the love the son has for his father, and the love between the mother and father. The musical is set in Texas, where Arden was raised.
Hope that helps a little.

No no no Damon is not doing it. Jesse is conducting the orchestras if you read above. That's what is so amazing...a 22 (?) year old conducting symphony orchestras across the country for Clay Aiken...worth going alone if you ask me.
Okay, I must be mistaken. I could have sworn someone had mentioned that Damon was conducting on the road. I know he's doing the orchestrations (or at least was as of his last Sirius interview), I can't remember what gave me the impression he was going on the road. Maybe Michael mentioned it on Cast Party, was that it? Can't recall.

Trisky - I also have been racking my brain trying to figure out where we heard that Damon was involved, I think it was the last Sirius interview, I am re-listening right now to be sure, I will let ya know, but now that you mention Michael's Cast Party Interview I am thinking it was that??????
EDITED: I just found it, in the Cast Party interview, Michael does say that Damon will be conducting and orchestrating the Clay Aiken Tour, now I am even more confused, but all I need to know is that either Jesse or Damon or both are involved that would make me want to go!!!

Thanks for looking into it AP! I sometimes think I'm making things up in my head because I want them to be true. Maybe Damon passed the gig onto Jesse, who knows. I'm just happy to see one or both involved on some level.

I just found out that Damon was going to do it and Jesse was going to play keyboard but Damon booked another movie so now Jesse is conducting the tour..which is great for him. Damon has an amazing movie career out in LA, so I am happy that Jesse gets this amazing experience. Too bad we can get some of the cast as backup singers!!! But it would still be incredible to see such a young (cute) guy conducting symphonies behind Clay!
For the non-informed, what is the difference between conducting and musical director? Is the musical director not required to be there? He does the orchestrations beforehand? And the conductor conducts them as envisioned?
Should we buy a package of 2Xist to throw at Jesse's head while he's playing?

musical directors are in charge of the musical aspects of the show through the creative process - just like the director and choreographer. the conductor actually directs the actors and musicians during performances. many times in theatre they are the same person...

Someone channelling my hometown?
Which reminds me, I better get my Wicked tickets soon. I'm not a big fan of the show, but I gotta support the local theatre! Besides, it'll be neat to be there when a big, hyped-up tour opens.

Really? I have yet to reap the rewards of this said "sugar daddiness" :)
I'm currently trying to picture John Hill as a "Rocker" and am alternating between remembering his demonstration of his backup vocals at Joe's Pub "creeps.... creeps..." and his Six Parks cowboy number. The mind reels!
Ahh...BFF, let us not forget the kick assedness of "Origin of Love." Thank you. Besides, hi, it's John. He can sing whatever the hell he wants! And Jenna. I can't wait to hear her sing a rock song. YAY! :) Where's Scott?
You and me both! SOMEONE around here who shall remain nameless tends to keep me up on the phone.......
*stares left and right. Whistles*

Well we did talk about heading up there for other reasons...
...or just throw in the puppet sex for the sake of that hot puppet lovin'.
Well look who decided to pop into the Bare thread. The mysterious AndyF. So, which show are you going to? See, I asked! :)
Should we buy a package of 2Xist to throw at Jesse's head while he's playing?
Why don't we just wear it on our own heads and call it a day! :) I keed, I keed. I LOVE the Clay more than I ever should admit on a public forum... :)

Or as I like to call it, "the guy with the stick thingy" though I hear that's not quite the technical term.
I just found it, in the Cast Party interview, Michael does say that Damon will be conducting and orchestrating the Clay Aiken Tour
Thank God you looked it up or it would have driven Trisky crazy!
Besides, it'll be neat to be there when a big, hyped-up tour opens.
Blue, I think you'll really like it actually.
Okay, me go splat now.

Thanks for the explanation BG2 about the difference between musical director and conductor. So what you're basically boiling it down to is that I'll be getting to stare at Jesse's ass throughout the show, yes? Works for me!
Ahh...BFF, let us not forget the kick assedness of "Origin of Love." Thank you. Besides, hi, it's John. He can sing whatever the hell he wants! And Jenna. I can't wait to hear her sing a rock song. YAY! :) Where's Scott?
OMG! I totally forgot about Origin of Love, maybe because when I think of rock for some reason I'm thinking of something very loud. I wonder what he'll sing? And Jenna for that matter. I don't think I've heard her sing anything other than musical theater numbers (as solos at least).
And I'm sorry, but I forgot to tell you Scott is inconsolable now that I've taken him down from my icon. Because it's definitely all about me! I still say Natalie would be a great addition to the show as well.
Well we did talk about heading up there for other reasons...
This is true. Oh Bare people, why you gotta make me poor??
Why don't we just wear it on our own heads and call it a day! :) I keed, I keed. I LOVE the Clay more than I ever should admit on a public forum... :)
We should make signs and scream "I love you Jesse" all night, just to confuse people. Hee!
Thank God you looked it up or it would have driven Trisky crazy!
And I would have been on the phone with MoG for 5 hours instead of 3 last night trying to figure it out!

LOL.....that was too funny for words. My boss agreed, since he came out to see why I was laughing so hard. Damn Trisky and her humor getting me in trouble at work But thanks for the laugh. It is a nice change from the death glare I had tattooed on my face
