In the spirit of keeping this thread alive...
More photos of the BARE cast at the NYC Gay Pride parade, taken by a "Trisky" on the Barees site....posted without permission.
There's a few blurry ones of Michael Arden, and a couple of John Hill too.
Enjoy!

OK, I've been trying to save this thread for awhile, but if no one wants to discuss anymore, I'm willing it let it go. ![]()
But ya know, we could share our stories about meeting the cast....

Well, this won't make me too popular, but when I saw 'bare' out here in LA, it was weak, mildly moving and most of the actor's on stage were emoting their asses off so earnestly that it was a bit laughable. I hope they worked some of those problems out, as it didn't resonate with me, and I am a huge fan of some of the shows many were comparing 'bare' to (Rent, Hair, etc.)
Glad you all are enjoying it.

in this spirit of keeping this alive (thank you bluewizard)
does anyone have any clue about casting for this show? i haven't heard any talk of sasha allen coming back, and i've heard mixed things about Romelda Benjamin coming back as Sister Chantelle/Mary.
i'm totally going thru withdrawl here. i miss my weekly (sometimes more) trips to the ATA.

Yay, the thread is alive again! It's so beautiful! Sniff sniff...
I don't know why they'd want to replace Romelda Benjamin, I thought she was great. I do know they want to change the Sister Chantelle character (a lot of people have criticized her for being too "drag queen"-like) - I hope they don't eliminate "911! Emergency."

well the funny thing with the notion of her being "drag queen-like" is that when i first heard about the show, i was told she WAS a drag queen. but idk. i've heard there are casting notices up for the show for both of the roles...i just wanted to see if there was any validity to that, considering i'm not equity (YET) and don't really pay attention to the trades.

Casting notices are up because they ARE looking for replacements.
Sometimes it is the ACTOR who CHOOSES not to return to a show.. not the PRODUCERS firing the actor.

Any truth Romelda Benjamin is moving on to "Brooklyn"?
I don't know if Kay Trinidad is returning either. I heard she's an NYU student who took the last term off to do the show. Unless she's planning on extending her hiatus...

Not sue abour Romelda, though that MAY be a factor.
Michael should be back this fall.

What's "The Hudsucker Proxy"?
This boy is busy, isn't he? He did workshops for "The Vampire Lestat" and Tom Jones' upcoming "Harold and Maude" this year, he's writing his own musical, he's worked on this "Hudsucker Proxy," and he's probably involved in revisions of BARE. AND he has a new hairdo.
Where does he find the time?

Starlyricist, I'd like to join you and nominate myself as treasurer or vice president of the Michael fan club. The more I read about him, the more impressed I am with him. He is going to be a HUGE star!
And I'd love to know the official opening night date as well. Anyone have any clue?

Posted: 7/5/04 at 9:05amThe Hudsucker Proxy was a Joel and Ethan Coen film, starring Tim Robbins, Paul Newman and Jennifer Jason Leigh. You can rent it at fine video stores everywhere.

No idea when opening night is. I find it really annoying when they sell tickets for a date without telling you whether it's a preview or a "real" performance. Grrrr...
If anyone goes to the BARE cast's appearance at Scott Nevins Presents tonight, don't forget to take pictures and report back to the thread! The OFFICIAL Bare Thread! (Ok, not official, but might as well be.)
Dodgers is really making this cast work to the bone promoting the show, isn't it? I hope they're paying them well.
