An interesting category and I reallly like there are some provocative choices.
POTENTIAL NOMINEES:
Home
Romeo and Juliet
Yellowface
Our Town
Eureka Day
Othello
Glengarry Glen Ross
If there are four nominees, my predictions:
Eureka Day- really liked this play, odd that it's a revival.
Home - a rediscovery like last year's Purlie Victorious
Romeo and Juliet- a bold reimagining
Yellowface- a major work from our foremost Asian-American playwright David Henry Hwang
Could there be five nominees with the fifth slot going to Othello, Our Town or Glengarry Glen Ross. I'd lean to Our Town but haven't seen Glengarry Glen Ross yet. Thoughts.
Home doesn't stand a chance to get nominated, it is mostly forgotten and Romeo would be surprising too given the very tepid response to it. There won't be five nominees unless there's a tie.
My predictions are:
Glengarry Glen Ross
Eureka Day
Othello
Yellow Face
I could see Our Town making it in over Othello or Yellow Face but I'm almost certain it will be four of those five.
Yellow Face, unlike "Othello" and "Glengarry" was universally liked, and will be fresh in tony voters' minds due to a well-timed PBS broadcast. I expect this to be a serious contender alongside Eureka Day.
My predicted nominees are:
Eureka Day
Glengarry Glen Ross
Our Town
Yellow Face
As of now, it looks to me like the race will come down to Eureka Day and Yellow Face. If the latter wins, it would mark Scott Ellis' very first Tony since he was a producer on the production.

Of the three I've seen (Glengarry Glen Ross, Eureka Day and Yellow Face), and I liked them all, I would go with Yellow Face.
Home was better reviewed than GGR and Our Town.
Kind of interesting that the $/ big names shows were the 3 weakest reviewed (revivals) shows. Our Town , with more names, was next.
I'm still surprised EUREKA DAY is considered a revival given how it had its world premiere in 2018 in CA and off-Bway in 2019. The whole classics rule just confuses me.

Perhaps but that’s a low bar. But Home was terrible. None of my friends could even remember it without my reiterating what it was about. Not sure any Tony nominators will remember let alone reward it.

I really can't see Othello getting in at this point. There's just too much backlash against the producers for the ticket gouging, treatment of the press, etc. This feels very much like a "Mockingbird" situation where they clearly omitted it from Best Play due to a certain producer.
I think Our Town and Eureka Day are locks with Yellow Face and Glengarry the most likely two to round it out. More shocking things have happened than Home getting nominated, but it seems unlikely. Romeo and Juliet has no chance.
