So for the Scarlet Pimpernel albums... there is the demo, the OBCR, then the encore album right? The OBCR is one of my favorite cast albums and gets a lot of playing time in my car!

There's the 1992 Concept Recording, as with every show a demo exists (though not legally available for purchase), the 1998 Original Broadway Cast Recording) and the 1999 Encore Broadway Cast Recording. There's also a few international recordings (Norway (which features a reprise of "He Was There" instead of "She Was There" sung by Marguerite), Austria and a Japanese album. The Japanese album is the theatre company that is all female, and features a new song, "A Piece of Courage" written for the production.

In what has to be the biggest douchebag move, the FOH staff was offered comps for Monday, Tuesday and Friday matinee only to have them rescinded. Apparently, it was only supposed to be for the ushers, but bar staff and merch staff also signed up (no one knew).
I know no one's entitled to comps, but you don't take back tickets like that, especially when the houses aren't even half full.

I have had that happen a time or three, Fosse (not front of house, just general company). It's definitely a classless move, and I can't see any reason for them to have done it with B&C, with their sales being so poor - but then this show was mishandled from the beginning.

Yeah, if the house is not even half full why not just let the house staff fill the seats with their friends?
No reason to take back tickets you've already given out.
Was it the company manager or the producers who got involved ?
Either way, we are seeing how lame the management of this show has been , from promotions/ marketing to rewarding it's own employees.

Philly, I too hope Melissa will be remembered at TONY Time, her category is certain to include Mason, Danvers looks like a Killer role. Nikki Rene and Jessie Mueller might also be there, along with Paige, White and Houdysohell.
Jordan will most likely get a nom for just being in 2 shows, Osnes is in a tougher category and could be overlooked by Peters, Maxwell, McDonald and OHara, all TONY favs.

I really do blame the producers for most of the show's problems. They have done VERY little to help the show. The advertising was bad enough...I have friends who love all things Broadway who didn't even know B/C was opening.

I really don't think this show has a shot at many Tony nominations. Melissa was hardly singled out in the major reviews. Jordan will be nominated for NEWSIES, a better role and show. Osnes will be completely overlooked by the powerhouses in that category.

My understanding is that it was the Company Manager. Apparently they aren't giving company to the cast and crew, and someone in the cast found out they offered the house staff comps and complained.
I agree that this show has been completely mishandled. I've seen community theaters with better management.

Very douchy thing to do. And I don't blame the company to be a bit annoyed that they weren't recieving comps as well...a shame that the producers decided the right thing was to cancel their offer instead of just apologizing or giving the company some comps too.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Any further news on a recording of this show?

They will do a recording. The cast will be the investors (with their own fees and such being waived ... Or "volunteered")

B&C still holds interest for a number of us and so we continue to discuss it. If it is dead for you, that's fine, and you are welcome to move on.

The cast at the stage door last night said Jan 2 is the recording date for the cast album.

I'm hoping to go to this show's final performance Dec. 30th. So I'm wondering whether anything special takes place, or some ritual, that marks the end of a show's Broadway run. Should I expect anything out of the ordinary that night?

Besides the sacrificing of the virgin understudy, it's usually just an ordinary show.
Well, besides the people who think it's appropriate to scream at every entrance, exit and word spoken or sung on stage (because, y'know, actors really appreciate that)

All the Wildhorn junkies will probably be there screaming at every entrance and big note.
Maybe Jeremy Jordan will propose to Laura Osnes
. Kidding.

Pretty much what Jordan and philly said, sans the sacrifice and proposal. There will probably be a curtain speech of some sort after.

Thank you all, but I'm disappointed, ghostlight. I was beginning to look forward to that virgin sacrifice.

I saw the show a second time this afternoon. Very sad it is closing next week as I love everything about the performers. I loved the entire cast of this production and don't think it is getting a fair chance.
It is not a perfect show but it is Wildhorn's best musical and the cast is as good as it gets. Very sad it is closing but I feel very grateful to have seen it twice.
I love this show and the performers are worthy of nominations in my opinion.

Hey 'thismysshow', are so called delusions are becoming a reality...there will be a Bonnie & Clyde cast recording. They will be recording it on Jan 2, 2012. So for all those who said this would never happen...you can suck it!
