You can't give up hope yet! It reminds me of watching a hockey game tonight. The Predators by all rights were going to loose to the Red Wings. You get 3 good shots, and you end up winning. (Go Preds!). Maybe that is what Bonnie and Clyde needs, 3 good sell out nights and it will keep them in the game! If three sell outs arn't enough, then 4...what ever it takes to keep the game going!
PopAria - not true at all... at least not tonight. It was a full house and a really enthusiastic crowd. Crowd seemed much more into it than the audience did when I saw it a couple weeks ago.
They were also filming it tonight for the Lincoln Center archives, so nice that there was such a responsive crowd whose enthusiastic laughter and applause was captured on this recording.
At the stage door the cast was still talking about trying to make it past the 30th -- and Laura Osnes had more of the Bonnie & Clyde "WANTED" posters she was taking with her to hand out, and gave some to fans at the stage door.
"PopAria - not true at all... at least not tonight. It was a full house and a really enthusiastic crowd."
It wasn't a full house...not even close. There were less than 500 people on Thursday and less than 600 people on Wedenesday evening, in a house that seats 1100.
The cast is officially being told tonight that the show is closing. Apparently they were hoping to keep it running through January (not sure why, though), and there is a slight possibility for an off-Broadway transfer.
I think the chance of it going to Off Broadway might be a decent one. There is a lot of talk about this show it's just not picking up enough steam fast enough.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am almost certain that a move off-Broadway would require the producers to completely re-negotiate all of the cast contracts, and obviously, cast members would not be "forced" to move off-Broadway with the show.
Under those circumstances, I would suspect they'd have to find a new Clyde, at least, given that Jordan would have the opportunity to originate another leading role in a Broadway show, a role he already received raves for.

I was there last night and the house was NOT full at all. Furthermore, there was very clearly one section of the audience (back orchestra house right) that I'm assuming were affiliated were the show because they continually laughed and clapped noticeably more than anyone else in the audience. I'm betting the show made sure friends of the production were there to be responsive during the lincoln center taping.
Which reminds me--the fact that they were taping it for lincoln center archives two weeks after they open is possibly the surest sign of all that they're closing. That's terribly early. Plus, I was sitting next to a camerawoman who told me they were taping this early because they were closing, so there ya go.

A lot of talk from the same 20 queens who religiously attend Musical Theatre Mondays at Splash, and spend the other 6 nights of the week at Marie's Crisis.
Well... it's official... I am very disappointed this wasn't given more of a chance... hopefully some good will come out of this like a cast album or a couple of Tony nominations, maybe?
What chance? It had as much chance as any show that comes in. People just didn't want to see it. I never know why such a simple thing is so hard to grasp - do you think tourists should be forced to buy tickets tot he shows you like?
This is sad. I really enjoyed this show, but you never know what show is going to work. I hope there is a cast recording, though it looks slim there will be. They were suppose to record back on the 5th and I heard it didn't happen.
I's pretty pathetic that all of the press releases are including preview performances in the show's overall performance count. Usually closing press releases separate them. 69 performances doesn't look any better than 30 something performances.
I noticed that too, ljay! I believe WONDERLAND played 33 regular performances...wondering if BONNIE & CLYDE will beat that.
Edit, according to ibdb, BONNIE & CLYDE played 33 preview performances. Therefore, if the total number reported is 69, then BONNIE & CLYDE will have played 36 regular performances - 3 more than WONDERLAND.
As a flop connoisseur, it is important for me to keep track of these things!
The chance I was referring to was the chance to run a little longer ... But anyway, I also noticed the "total performances" in the closing notice and had to double check, as well... Last I read, it was at 11 performance, but it seems they did include previews. WithoutATrace happened to clear that up for me.
I'm really saddened by this though. Saw the show on the 10th and I really liked it. Actually I loved it. It had A LOT of heart and soul and had a fantastic score with a really nice book. Yea, it has flaws, but overall I think the show is better then some stuff that is on Broadway right now. I hope it has a life after Broadway. Wonderland may be the one Wildhorn show that dies after Broadway but "Bonnie & Clyde" should NOT be. Take it on tour. I have no doubt that a small scale tour would do extremely well, especially in the mid west. Make a recording though! This score is great!

I saw a few performers post today about how it's becoming more and more "normal" for them to find out about their show closing either online (through social media/message boards) or through other impersonal ways.
Perhaps this is a discussion for another thread, but what a horribly unacceptable oversight (assuming it's not done on purpose) to send out press releases before officially telling the cast/crew. I could be mistaken but this appears to be the case with Bonnie and Clyde. Must be a double blow to feel like everyone else around you knew first, no matter how predictable the closing was.

If it makes you feel any better, you are mistaken.
There are some FB posts from cast members and crew that they were told the show was "probably" closing, nothing was definite and they indeed heard from other sources about the official announcements. It's moot now but the Producers were jerkin' everyone around by not announcing the closing when they stopped selling tickets. Ghostlite, I guess it's all who we hear it from.
