By the way, does anyone have the complete lyrics of Electricity? I've looked online, and can't find anything...
koolkid.... did u get one of those brochures when u went to see billy cos the lyrics are in there. i have one if u dont n i cant type them on here but its easier if u have one
I can't really explain it, I haven't got the words
It's a feeling that you can't control
I suppose it's like forgetting, losing who you are
And at the same time something makes you whole
It's like that there's a music, playing in your ear
And I'm listening, and I'm listening, and then I disappear
And then I feel a change, like a fire deep inside
Something bursting me wide open, impossible to hide
And suddenly I'm flying, flying like a bird
Like Electricity, electricity
Sparks inside of me, and I'm free, I'm free
It's a bit like being angry; it's a bit like being scared
Confused and all mixed up and mad as hell
It's like when you've been crying
And you're empty and you're full
I don't know what it is, it's hard to tell
It's like that there's some music, playing in your ear
But the music is impossible, impossible to hear
But then I feel it move me
Like a burning deep inside
Something bursting me wide open
Impossible to hide
And suddenly I'm flying
Flying like a bird
Like Electricity, electricity
Sparks inside of me
And I'm free, I'm free
Electricity sparks inside of me
And I'm free, I'm free
Oh, I'm free

Thanks!!!
re: who are on the clips
yeah they were recorded a long time ago so you gotta remember that the boys voices will have changed so will sound different now to back when the clips were recorded
I've got a hypothetical question for all of you:
If you were to make an American production of Billy Elliot - The Musical, what would you change and why?

I wouldn't change anything about this musical! I'm so afraid that when they bring Billy Elliot to the US (I really hope it's a question of "when" rather than "if"!), they don't change a minute of it. We Americanize everything ... isn't Britain allowed to have its own national, representative musical every now and then? Admittedly, the accents can be a bit hard to understand at times, and many Americans are probably unfamiliar with the historical context, but what better way to learn about other countries, their culture and their history, than through a spectacular musical?

I'm not sure if it comes to Broadway, having a British cast would matter. What I'm trying to say is that I don't think accent would make the show completely different, if not better since it'll be easier for us Americans to understand. But then, British accent is nice still! I can't decide!
About the show, I'd say not to change ANYTHING.
Most Brits don't understand Geordie. The show has geordie accents for sure but for the most part, apart from one obvious exception, the accents are within reason. The Americans I've spoken to during, and after, the show have not had problems with the accents.
I would hope that they wouldn't change it too much but suspect that there is at least one piece that would get the chop in it's entirity. Also, at least for me, part of the charm is how simplistic the set looks. I'm sure it isn't because of how smoothly all the changes happen and also for the most part how quietly. I would hate it if the musical was changed to allow for a big glitzy set. That being said, I might have to take a trip to the U.S when it opens just to see what they have done to it.

I certainly can't see any reason to change the show for an American audience, and I'm sure there would be no problem with the northern dialects. After all, the film contained both strong northern accents plus a Scottish one thrown in for good measure, and that didn't dampen the films international success
I do, however, feel strongly that re-engineering the piece to suit an American audience as they did with "The Full Monty" would be a disaster.

Hi everyone,
Well I'm currently away on a holiday at the moment on a Cruise ship going round the Med. I've just caught up on the messages that you've all posted... it's not long to go till you see James and Ash's last performance!
Last nights show here on board ship was Magic of the Musicals... I couldn't believe my luck when one of the cast members then sung Electricity, without the Geordie voice! Liam, James & George I just want to let you know that it was nothing like the way you guys sing it...
Anyway, got to dash, till the next time.
Have a good holiday :)
Sung without the Geordie voice? Was that a good or bad thing, Electricity? But the thing about Electricity is not the song or the singing, am I right?
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the kids who are leaving the show for some marvelous hours there in the dark enjoying your dancing and singing, and I hope your final week will be a good one and that your future will be bright!

Well I guess it's great to know that songs from "Billy" are being performed on the high seas. Did they also do "I am sailing" from the last resident production at the Victoria Palace?
Anyway, I hope you are having a great time Electricity and it's a shame you won't be with us on Saturday!
I would also like to echo the sentiments expressed by Pegasus re the other members of the Ballet chorus who are also leaving the show on Saturday.
Just a quick roll call of those going this Saturday evening. I will be there! Anyone else?
