Billy Elliot The Musical — Page 99

Well, probably it will. I used to order Mulan DVD from HMV shop in London. When I arrived 3 days before its release, they nearly handed that DVD to me. Then they realised that it's supposed to be released 3 days later. So they took that away from me, and I got to be back 3 days later. (this indicates that they already have that in stock before the release)

Probably, if HMV is not well informed about the release, they could by mistake send the cd to you earlier on 21 nov

See everyone on the 3rd!

Earlier today, Amazon switched their announced release date of the OCR from November 21 to December 5, but the BE official site still says November 28 and HMV still says November 21. I expect all these sites will be updated with the correct date, and hopefully not beyond December 5.

Perhaps the producers have decided to have an official launch at the theatre on Saturday, December 3 since it is the day that George MacGuire and Tim Healey make their final performances.

Got it! Thanks!
I can't wait!
If I got it, I think I will play it all day, together with mary poppins (i still listen to it everyday). It would make me less mary poppins-ish

Does anyone know what the postcards in the special edition of the ocr will be of?

i'm really confused! which is the official release date? 5 dec or 28 nov?
and why nearly all the prices go up?

On the contrary, I loved mary poppins OCR. I don't know why.
I regard it as variation to the OST

I hope that the producers learn their lesson from this situation. It now seems obvious that there should actually be 4 Billys in the show at any one time and these shouldn't include previous postholders. The show has already made them a truckload of money so financially they can certainly afford another and at the end of the day this would give a golden opportunity to another talented young performer.
Where would the producers and the show be if they didn't have somebody with the drive, professionalism and simple good manners of James Lomas to step into the breach.
The young people in the show are entitled to a quality of life away from the stage - time that they spend with their family and friends with no Billy involvement. On a simple level this would allow them to give the 200% they do without it impacting on their wellbeing.
I'm sorry to say that James is ill-advised - or more likely has allowed his heart to rule his head in going back. During his run he showed an abundance of talent and charisma every time he played the role but no actor can carry on playing a role which is too young for them without the cracks starting to show. This isn't the fault of the actor of course but of the producers who put them there. Some of these cracks have been raised by others on this board (very gently) and it is only right they should. James has the sheer abundance of talent to move on successfully to other shows and returning to Billy may harm his chances of doing this.
Needless to say I hope he finds further success and more importantly happiness in his return visit - on meeting he seems like a gentle, level headed young man who deserves to be moving on.
These are of course only my opinions and I welcome fedback from either side of the fence.
James - good luck
Producers - open your eyes and your wallets!
