Yikes that's what I am afraid of. I went in November 2011 to get tickets for March 2012 and all the moderately priced seats were sold out already and all they had left were obstructed view seats for $180.
I might be in New York again come August 2011 and wanted to take a shot at seeing the show again but wasn't entirely sure when was the latest I could wait on purchasing tickets for it.
I wish they sold BOM tickets via TicketMaster though cause I really like using that interactive map view that the site has so I can get a better picture of which seats are still available, etc.
Great story, pdg! I've only done the lottery once (didn't win), but now I'm motivated to try again.
BUMP: There is going to be a story about the lotto on Rock Center tonight.
Great, now the crowds will be even more unbearable!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am going to try to wait for SRO tickets for BOM this weekend (Andrew's last weekend). I have SRO'd the show before, but only on Tuesdays. What is it like for a Saturday, and how early should i come to guarantee tickets for the evening show (not the matinee)? Thanks.
I went the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, got there for SRO at 4:30. were the second to last group in line to get tickets and 3 groups in front of us won lottery. (which had at least 500 ppl). And it was raining that weekend. So to be safe, i'd say no later than 2.

Just fyi, I did SRO yesterday (Tuesday), we got there 12:20 and got tix #6-11. The line was full before 1pm. Not sure if it was because it is nearly summer or Gad's 2nd to last day. Of the SRO people i spoke to, nobody was there specifically for Gad, but some came early (like us) because of it. Others didnt even know about it until we told them.

My husband & I did SRO yesterday, Wed. 6/27 - we got there around 1:30 for the 7pm show - we were 1st in line - another couple came right after us & then more came about an hour later. Only 1 person from the SRO line won the lottery - most of the winners selected yesterday were from out of state or out of country - there was a winner from Luxembourg which was a first they said.
How early has anyone been getting there for matinee tix?
About 9.
Thanks, Lizzie! (and what the heck happened to Thisismyshow? -- I see his quote in your post!!)
Is 9 still true for the matinees now that summer is in full swing? My friend and I are going to be in the city next weekend and if SRO is an option we might see BOM.

Bumping to ask if anyone's tried standing room for one of the new Friday matinees. Anyone have any advice of a time to line up?
Was there the first week in July. I got there at 9, and was about 9 or 10 in line. (Hard to say exactly, as not everyone in front of us was getting tix. 2 people only getting 2, not 4 tix.)
If I go on a Tuesday, and get there at 11, for a 7pm show, would I get tickets for Standing Room? Also are standing room good view??
Never any guarantees, but most likely.
View is great.
gstrus2, yes, you'll probably be fine. And I agree on the view. I've sat in the rear orchestra and could see much less than I could from standing room.
My friend got there around 2 (maybe closer to 3?) for the evening show on Wednesday and got in :)

A few weeks ago I came at 3:30 for an evening show and I was 17th in line so I got in!
