"The alleged victim informed a former Met Opera board member of the alleged abuse in 2016 and she alerted the Met’s general manager, yet Levine continued to wield his baton."
I'm quite sure Levine continued to "wield his baton" and now his baton wielding days are over.
"The New York Times recently revealed that the Metropolitan Opera had opened an investigation into claims against conductor James Levine, alleging sexual abuse. Over a year ago, a man filed a police report saying Levine had abused him in the 1980's. The Met was made aware of this report but did not act on it until recent media inquiries were made into Levine's conduct."
And I'm willing to bet some serious money that these organizations always knew what was going on and protected their bottom line by turning a blind eye. The only reason any of these organizations fired these people is because the dirty deeds were exposed and then and only when they saw that their "good" reputations and their precious bottom lines were at stake did they take action. HYPOCRITES.
Is the article out yet?
The 1979 letter about James

Nope....
Anyone else weirdly stressed about this article?
Not to surprised considering everything that has been going on. But, I am a little disappointed because my feeling is the the Broadway community was better than the rest of to entertainment world. I mean they are the less outspoken group compared to those in Hollywood. This is part of why I enjoy the theatre.

Jen Tepper talked about the article on facebook last night. It's coming.

Glad I'm not the only one...was having unrelated insomniac tendencies last night and this kept creeping into my mind...while I'm glad that these are finally coming to light, my heart aches for anyone who had to suffer through harassment in an industry that manufactures joy for so many.
It's 8:56...

It's a public post, so I have no reservations linking to it:

Where did this 8:30 thing come from? Since when do Times articles have exact drop times outside of any sort of internal deadline?

Was wondering the same thing. Nothing yet on the Times website, either.
"Since when do Times articles have exact drop times outside of any sort of internal deadline?"
And when, exactly, did everyone replace the word "release" with "drop?"

Based on over 86,000 views in just four days, anything is possible. I don't think the first preview of FROZEN in Denver got this much attention.
To the best of my knowledge, it started as a black slang term in the sixties and seventies for "verbal delivery." A Jamaican dancehall toaster would drop rhymes, a "woke" rapper would drop knowledge. A performer associated with Nation of Islam or any of the more radical, culty black religious movements (particularly the ones who believed white people were devils concocted in a lab by an evil genius) would be said to "drop science."
The use of "drop" for arrival or delivery probably came from World War era delivery of paratroopers or supplies, but it became associated with music and the entertainment industry more than anything (see also: "the drop," when the heavy beat of a song kicks in).

Correct. I mentioned the article on Thursday. I heard about the article from multiple posts on Facebook. Actors and biz people talking about it. That’s all I knew. As of why it hasn’t come out? Well who knows. We will have to wait and see.
^That's where I heard 8:30, too.

A reporter has stated there will be an article, but this absurdity about Monday morning is a total rumor.
