THE BAND’S VISIT is doing quite well.

Bronx Tale has probably just been making small profits over its expenses during its entire run, I'm thinking at this rate they need at least another two if not three years to recoup.

Those really are some remarkable first full-week numbers for The Band's Visit. And I imagine the overwhelmingly positive reviews that are to come next month will only propel that further. How great!

IF Springsteen did a full 8 shows a week, he would probably set some insurmountable box office records

Don't get me started on that. I consider the Springsteen prices to be obscene. I sorta have the view that the blue collar Democrat has sold out and is playing to full houses that include a disproportionate number of Trump elites and other fascists.

The prices charged by that show cannot be good for the future of Broadway.

It's the reality of pop superstardom. Do you know what good seats cost at his concerts? To make a theatrical equivalent, If Barbra played an 800 seat house would you really expect to pay only $189 per ticket up close? He is sui generis, and this is a unique opportunity to be in his presence in the most intimate setting that he has played since he first started out. That said, I'm totally comfortable passing on this, but it does bring a certain glamour to the theatre and as long as there is an audience who is clamoring to see him.

I think you're on to something here.. It's been reported that there has been an unusual amount of chatter on hardcore fascist websites about recruiting people to buy up Springsteen tickets just to piss you off.

^Bravo, UncleCharlie, bravo!

Prices to a Bruce Springsteen Concert will have no direct correlation to anything b'way. It's NOT a Broadway show, it's a CONCERT. And AGAIN, not all the ticket prices were obnoxious....just lots of them.
