Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 11/11/18

Incredibly impressive starts for Mockingbird and Network.

The numbers are still a long way from good, but it's worth noting that it was up a teeny bit over last week even though it actually had one less performance. I haven't seen it yet, but for some reason, the positive buzz has me thinking this could still have a chance of finding an audience--maybe not a huge one, but enough to have a respectable (if not profitable) run.

ask in January. For now it has hit a target. (That said, I don't think the Tony season is something that is on their calendar, both because they are beyond unlikely to get much love and they are obviously not going to be bringing their only asset on the show.

I’m pleasantly surprised that we received the grosses today on a holiday (Veterans Day). I’m encouraged to see so many plays doing so well although my heart breaks for Torch Song. I might just have to take a quick one or two night trip to NYC before it closes.

Nice to see THE CHER SHOW in the millionaire club right out of the gate. Reminds me a bit of ON YOUR FEET doing the same thing for the first year, but unfortunately that slowly declined. Perhaps more people will want to see Cher versus Gloria. Only time will tell.

I think Fun Home’s run was just short of a year and a half, but I think your comparison might be pretty apt. It seems likely that TBV will run about 1 1/2 - 2 years.

According to this, looks like HPCC has fully recouped it's initial Broadway investment. Well done! :) (as if there was any doubt I know, just happy for it to happen)

That's not really how math works. I mean, sure, if they didn't have rent to pay the theater, weekly operating costs, salaries, etc., then sure... but the entire weekly gross doesn't get applied toward the investment.

You can read last week's grosses thread, where you advanced the same theory to have it debunked more thoroughly, no need to do it weekly here, I wouldn't think.
