Generally a steady week again, nice to see!

Broadway "Week" + Not an oversaturation of shows + decent weather is getting Broadway through the winter months pretty well...

Curious to see how shows that banked on the Broadway week discount will do the rest of the Winter. I don't see A BEAUTIFUL NOISE code anywhere and they have a lot of availability this week.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

When was the last time Broadway theaters were this consistently packed?!?!? Only 4 of the 21 shows on the Boards played to crowds under 94% capacity, in the dead of winter....

Is this the new post-pandemic normal? I'm not convinced it's because of the weather. Whatever it is, I'm thrilled to see it.

It's interesting to note that attendance this week was 192,000. The same week in 2019 was 249,000 which means attendance is down over 20%. Probably shows are having such a high capacity is because there are a lot fewer choices.

There were not a lot of shows (or seats) out there. People come to town (and for whatever reason there are a ton of tourists here right now) with the intention of seeing a Broadway show. When you see that all but a handful of shows are toward the high end of the 90s in capacity, that means that a lot of performances were sold out. So what's a visitor to do?

Two related notes: the per ticket averages are not consistent with Broadway week which means a lot of tickets are being purchased above that level. And the shows (esp the newbies) that were selling less than 90% have red flags hoisted, with the biggest flag outside the sole commercial production that had both attendance<90% and per ticket avg <$100. Yikes.

You really do need to give your act a rest...

Looks like it's been heavily papered to get bodies in seats.

Who is Kimberly Akimbo papering to & how do I get on that list?

Based on average ticket price it doesn't seem like they'd be papering that much? Just taking into account Broadway Week and rough ballparks in my mind these grosses seem alright.

Did I equate it with a show failing? All is asked is who are they papering too and how do I get a ticket?
