All i can say is DAMN!! I am assuming most excluding 3 are down because of the heat wave and beach weather weekend we just had killing day of sales. That combined with Tony voter comps cause the down spike in the new shows.

Once's drop is probably the most suprising, I wonder if it will regain some ground or maintain it new lower grosses. Did the producers also lower prices back to pre-Tony prices becuase their maximum prossible gross is beneath Newsies which hasn't since they upped their prices post Tony's? Oh and the show is most certainly not in trouble its running costs are at most $500,000.

Almost every show went down. Although the summer will cure those downward dizzying spells.

Fairly large drops for a good number of shows...is there something this week that I am forgetting that would have caused this? Just seems odd as the summer momentum seemed to be building.

ETA: I also find it interesting that "Matilda" was one of the only shows that increased in sales this week. Happy for them! Updated On: 6/3/13 at 04:15 PM

It was about fourteen thousand degrees out this weekend, I think everyone was at the beach or a park.

Gosh darn, a 200K plus drop for "Chicago". As another poster mentioned, summer is rapidly approaching, which I guess will mean better box office numbers for many shows. Big ouch for "Ann", down to almost 19%. Speaking of "Ann", I do have an extra ticket for the Sat. June 8th 2pm perf. I changed my mind on that show to see "The Nance." If anyone knows of a place on Broadway that will have a Tonys watching event, please pass along that info to moi. Thanks....RC in Austin, Texas...

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

It's fairly common for grosses to drop after a holiday week. The biggest surprise was to see ANNIE back down at 69%; the level it was at before Jane Lynch joined the cast. It seems this production is almost played out. If the grosses don't improve, I imagine they'll close when Lynch's contract is up in July.

ANNIE is actively seeking Stars to replace Jane, some of the names I've heard are ridiculous.

I can confirm they've reached out to Wanda Sykes to take over the role up until the end of year.

Kinky Boots and Motown continue to keep company with the long run boys and girls Wicked, Lion King and Book of Mormon, once Lucky Guy ends its limited engagement more will join them at the top of the leader board.

I am amazed that Pippin isn't seeling out. Do they really think that Wanda Sykes will sell a ticket?-She is of another decade. Unless they want to keep the lesbian Miss Hannigan thing going. Uh oh.....if Wanda turns it down does that mean.....they offer it to......please no.

This is the first week in the last month that Pippin didn't sell every ticket. Since nearly every show was down in attendance, there was something going on - perhaps the weather - perhaps the Memorial day hangover before summer starts -

It seems like this was the perfect theatre size for Pippin. A lot seems to be going right for this revival.

Actually the gross trend will be downhill from this point on. If you look at the data, the 21st week (4th week of May) is the peak bringing more than any other summer weeks (notable exception is 2009). This trend is becoming stronger during the last three years.

It is interesting to see whether Annie can buck this trend being a children's show.
