Yikes for Spring Awakening. I'm getting really worried...

Why are you getting worried? 72.8% isn't that bad...

It's [tos] we need to worry about...at 48.4% last week grossing a mere $157,123.

Spring Awakening's total wasn't that low. I wouldn't worry at this point.
I saw it on Thursday night and the orchestra seemed pretty full and the front of the mezz was full.

Crap, crap and double crap for TOS...almost everything slid a little but this show can't afford it.

Hoping to get down again sometime this fall to see it again and hope it's still there.

SA is not that expensive to keep running.

And it's doing fine...when winter rolls around, that will be the real challenge for this show. The big question is whether or not it will make it to the spring. But for now, we don't have much to worry about.

I feel awful for [tos]. It's not going to be around too much longer. Sadly.

And YAY YAY YAY times a million for XANADU.

Remember, Spring Awakening already recouped.

[tos] however...yikes. Yikes, yikes, yikes.

And yay for Xanadu!

I can't wait for [tos] to post its closing notice. Maybe then the obnoxious ad featuring Hunter Bell will finally be removed from this site.

I was thinking of getting tickets for [tos] for Sept 29.(Monday)?? Might it close by then??

And it looks like A Chorus Line will finish strong. YEAH!!

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I was really hoping to see a rise for [tos] this week. I was at the show on Saturday night and it seemed respectably full to me. I really wish this show the best as it was one of the best nights of theater I have experienced in quite a long time.

I hope [tos] is around long enough for me to see it when I move to NY! why are the numbers so low, is the show itself bad?

kalimba,

That is really mature of you. Hope that a show closes because an ad bothers you.

Nice

bwayfan45: "...is the show itself bad?"

Depends on who you ask: [TITLE OF SHOW] is a show that you'll either love or hate (like last season's PASSING STRANGE).

And the image of the show is of something that you won't get if you're not steeped in the Theater Canon. Even if it's not true, that's what people think.

"I was at the show on Saturday night and it seemed respectably full to me."

All shows are fuller on a Saturday night than they are during the week. With its low percentage, mid-week performances must have been quite empty.

"why are the numbers so low, is the show itself bad?"

[tos] is a very tough sell, and while it has its legions of fans, there are plenty of us who think it is very trite and are not recommending it to anyone. Some people are loving [tos] while others are walking out, scratching their heads thinking "WTF?"

Yet another week that I'm terrified for [tos].

And it sickens me that Grease is doing so well.

Go heights, though :)

It looks like In the Heights will recoup if it hasn't done so already.

For those who don't know, SPRING AWAKENING's weekly nut is about $400,000.

Xanadu made the right choice in holding out for the Tonys and casting Whoopi.

Sickens you that Grease is doing well? Awww, poor baby!

It's been doing well for well over a year. I am so happy it is doing well and it makes me feel GREAT!

I hated this Grease revival as much as anyone, but it doesn't sicken me that it's doing well. I knew it would.

There are much worthier things to get "sickened" by then Grease selling well.

"Maybe then the obnoxious ad featuring Hunter Bell will finally be removed from this site."

If the ads bother you that much, get Firefox and use Adblock to block them. Tada! Now you don't need to complain about Hunter Bell talking at you. It's like magic!
