You know you are going to get pounced upon for being a harbinger of ill thoughts, right? But at the same time, most of this has been discussed in various threads.
Out of your "speculations" I think the only SAFE prodcution is Addams Family.
Oh, don't forget Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson -- the writing appears to be on the wall.
NOTE: I am not wishing ANY of these shows to close.
A Free Man of Color closes 1/9 and Colin Quinn Long Story Short closes 1/8. Women on the Verge (barring an extension) is scheduled to close on 1/23. Driving Miss Daisy is a limited engagement through 1/29. I've also seen TV advertising that indicates Time Stands Still is a limited engagement through 1/23 (although I haven't seen that information appear anywhere else).

Why even start a discussion like this? What possible value is there in baseless speculation about those that haven't announced and if they have, well so what? EVERY single show closes eventually.
Though most people on this board are NY natives and can go see a show at the drop of a hat, I need not remind you that some BWW members are not such local and frequent theatre-goers. For this reason, some people here may find use in knowing which shows will still be open in January or at any other time that they maybe planning to make a trip to NY. Of course, this is "baseless" speculation, but nevertheless logistically important to some travelers.

As it has often been pointed out, I am a bitchy queen who doesn't even live in New York. If I'm lucky enough to get to visit NYC this January or February, I'll choose from what's still running and STILL have too many options. If someone is buying airline tickets based on the speculation of this crew, well, I guess they deserve what they get.
I agree, and I also think empirically-based travel decisions are most prudent. However, I have no objection to speculation that give someone some semblance of what MAY or MAY NOT still be open. Or, if they are making a trip earlier than, say January, whether it would be wise to see a specific show now, or if other people think that that show will be a goner by their next trip. I guess it's just called conversation.
Of course, we are all Broadway lovers here, and I doubt anyone's intention is to wish these shows ill.

Next To Normal is closing & I'm expecting La Cage to play out Grammar & Hodge's contracts in February.

So much anger! How unnecessary. As we are all aware, its speculation. I wish well of every show. But shows close. And new shows will open. Seems like we have a GREAT season lined up for the spring! So I am personally excited to see the new line-up that broadway will have to offer!
Personally, I think In The Heights is on its way out. In my opinion, I think they will bring back Lin-Manuel Miranda when they announce their closing notice. Whenever they close, Miranda will be rejoining the company for the final 12 weeks, in order to boost ticket sales in the final leg of the run.
What better way to end your show with a bang then bring back the tony-award winning lead actor/composer/lyricist?
I agree that La Cage will most likely run through to the leads contract dates, but maybe not further.

Just saw Memphis this week and the cast said the producers just decided to open a new block of tickets til' July, I believe. or sometime in the summer. So it looks like Memphis will be around for a while longer.
This is nasty! How can you be so happy to see a show close? It means cast, band, stage management, electrics, stage crew, wardrobe, wigs, dressers, ushers, producers and all their staff out of work. Ok so a show might not be that hot and it has to close...but lets not celebrate it!
Only bad witches are ugly.
You would know sweetie.
NOBODY said they were GLAD for any show to close. No one said anything like they were hoping for any specific show to close. No one is celebrating the closing of a show.
All the OP did was ask what anyone though would be closing come January. Our thoughts have very little impact on reality.
Wicked
Jersey Boys
Phantom of the Opera
The Lion King
Billy Elliot
Mamma Mia
Chicago

Next to Normal is January 16th. I work for the show. I'm positive. I doubt they're going to extend it any longer. Sad, but true :-/

Why hasn't Next to Normal made any official announcment on playbill or anything like that?
And if it is the 16th, Why did Telecharge send out those flyers that said 1-2-11
Does it matter coolkid? The fact is that it's happening...
They will make an announcement when they feel the time is right. Which is what we've been saying since that flyer erroneously went out.

I just recently spoke to Rebecca Naomi Jones about the AI closing rumors and she said they were all untrue.
The cast is the last to know...

American Idiot has a lot of plans to keep the show running till at least next summer. Very exciting casting that is yet to be confirmed or a done deal
Let me guess someone else from Greenday?
