Hi all—does anyone have insights from rushing the show post-Tonys? A friend of mine is aiming to rush for the two of us while I’m working on Tuesday and I’m not sure what time she ought to get there. Showed up at 8 am and got ‘em easy back in April, but idk if the post-Tonys bump is affecting the number of people who are rushing (or if it would be more affected by things like guest judge announcements). Thanks so much!!

They tend to not announce the guest judges in advance.

With rush, it’s going to depend on the day. I have friends who struck out on a weekday, while last week I walked up to the box office two hours before showtime and got a house seat at rush price. The partial view seats and rear mezz go as low as $49 on some days. This month may be a bit tough because of the Pride events in the city bringing in tourists, but it shouldn’t be an issue

Is side Mezzanine a good place to sit for this Show? Or do you Miss something important? Do you need to see the in Stage seating? I'm wondering If I should Take last Row of the Mezzanine Center. Or a few rows infront mor to the Side.

Side mezzanine is fine. Most of the action is center stage. I only recommend against the mezzanine seats for the lack of leg room, but getting a box is a great idea

I know Leiomy has been out due to injury, but after further scans, she announced on her Instagram that she's out of the show for the next 8 weeks. She has a torn ligament in her right knee. May she heal quickly! She seems, understandably, devastated ❤️

Confirmed via Instagram that the cast is performing “Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat” on the TONIGHT SHOW this evening.

Eight weeks? That's basically most of the summer. Maybe I'll be lucky and see her again when I go in August, but I feel sad for her and those who will miss out seeing her at least once.

PS. I kinda like how they're now advertising who their guest judges are going to be in advance. creates more of a demand in tickets day of that way

It’s going to really depend on the show and guests. Both of them have no issue boosting their profile as they already have quite a following as comics and podcasters. However, other stars may value discretion and also for safety from autograph hunters/stalkers that won’t go to the show, but will wait outside after. Also the production might want to keep the element of surprise (which is usually a major factor in energizing the audience). The day I went when Angela Bassett was a judge, she slipped in not fully recognized and then when she was announced, the audience went NUTS

Saturday night, our guests judges were Jason A. Rodriguez from POSE and Lea Michele. Lea was actually quite pleasant to the fans who saw her, but wasn’t taking pics or anything like that. I accidentally startled her as I was leaving my box and her and her party were passing through. (I apologized later and we laughed it off).

Pride Sunday, our judges were Larry Owens and Jasmine Rice LaBeija.

Perhaps they could announce a cast recording to celebrate this.

Darius Wright made his Rum Tug Tugger debut this afternoon. Not sure if he's going on tonight.

Caught this performance. Both were very vocally strong! Lots of support for both at the curtain call from the cast.

I was not in attendance, but based on Instagram:

The matinee was a swing all-skate. As mentioned, Darius made his Tugger debut (also on tonight), and Baby Byrne made her Skimbleshanks debut (on tonight as well). Bryce Farris did a split track in the matinee: Act 1: Victoria; Act 2: Mistofolees. Kendall Stroud on for Jennyanydots. B Noel Thomas on for Demeter (was Grizabella last night, and played Bustopher for 3 weeks post-Tonys due to Nora's injury). Donté Wilder on for Sillabub (also on tonight). Ernest Mingo is on for Etcetera (new vacation swing, Broadway debut, both performances today), since Kya Azeem has been covering Macavity due to Leiomy's injury. Eliza Galindez covering Kaylyn West as a Booth Singer. There's probably more I'm missing, but this is what I've put together based on what's online.

Extremely impressed by this show's coverage.

I was following on Instagram too. Four track debuts today between both shows and three last night.

It’s impressive, but definitely untenable.

Also, Mingo joined the cast a few months ago, but then had an out to do LA CAGE, so he just came back

I was at the matinee and I didn’t have time to take a photo of the understudy screen since I was hurrying to my seat. The auditorium was strangely quiet before the performance. An announcement was made saying that the show would begin shortly and to “feel free” to chat amongst ourselves. The show didn’t begin until about 2:20 pm.

B Noel Thomas was also on for Bebe Nicole Simpson as Demeter.

The show held up very well but, as someone who’s seen the show a few times with minimal understudies, the amount of people missing was pretty glaring from the opening number.

If anyone’s curious: Baby Byrne sang the Shimbleshanks song entirely in English (Kaylen West sang the Spanish parts when I saw her in the role a few weeks ago).

Bryce did not wear a wig nor the headpiece for Mistofolees, and (unless I missed it) did not kiss Tugger. As Victoria, Bryce started Act 1 in a white sheer top and white pants. For the Tag Team performance, he wore the exact same outfit as Primo The Ballerino.

Not surprising that Baby sang it in English considering it’s her first go-around and she probably didn’t have the amount of put in rehearsal to get that language down.

Bryce has a Mistofflees wig, maybe not a full length one given the height differential. (He did when I saw his debut), so to not have it maybe meant that the split track made the wig not possible to use since it requires precision to attach. But for Act I, that seems to be what Bryce’s costume plot is for Victoria and, as I mentioned on Sunday, the twin Tumblebrutus looks actually enhanced the Tag Team for me by a lot, especially since they are both equally matched dancers that look like they could be siblings.

I’m wondering what B. Noel wore for Demeter since Bebe and Kalyn have distinct costumes related to their body types.

From what I recall down at PAC, Baby sang it all in English there too. I don't believe she's Latina, so I imagine that'll probably remain the same and brings "Her" to the role by doing her handstands while singing.

Based on the Instagram stories from curtain call, it looks like B. Noel Thomas wore the pink dress she wore during the performance at the Tonys.
