Too many injuries with the cast?"
Pretty much. I believe I heard they were going to perform “Skimbleshanks” but Emma has been in and out injured, and since the cast is pretty much close to consistently all-skating with swings, coupled with an exhausting show schedule - putting them at the front of the parade in the hot sun, then have them go do a show was too much of an ask.

The longevity of this show depends on the cast staying healthy. I hope they can keep going into 2027. They keep adding swings and then someone else goes down.

They aren’t really adding swings at the rate they need to. Production has been begging for more swings since the show opened and previews already had some chaos. However, money is the factor on top of the casting team being rather particular about who they want in the show. I have quite a few friends who either turned down an offer due to salary or tried to get seen and were turned away.
The only new swings that have come on since opening are Darius Wright (replacing Sherrod T. Brown), Ernest Mingo (who came, then left for La Cage, and just returned) and Elisa Galindez (who only covers Booth Singer/Waitress for now).

Is it common for swings to be getting more than union minimum?

It’s complicated, but to my best estimate, the current standard is minimum ($2717) + 6% = $2,880.02. They also get a bump of 12.5% each time they go on.
So at minimum, the math is $2880.02 x 1.125 = $3,240.02 for the week if they go on for a single performance. This may even be low considering most of the swings cover more than 5 roles, which also merits a bonus. Considering B. Noel Thomas had gone on as Bustopher for three weeks straight when Nora was out, she may have cleared a minimum of $5760.04 per week for three consecutive weeks.
Long story short, it’s not entirely unlikely that the swings at Jellicle Ball (especially Bryce as dance captain - which is an extra $420/week) are making pretty good bank at the moment.
