I guess you do you. But if in fact the recording did not happen, would you in turn be "eating crow"? I certainly wouldn't expect you, or anyone who thought it was going to happen if it didn't, to have that response. Just seems odd to me.

Come on, it isn't arrogance that they've petitiioned for a cast recording (I think the wording of the petition was a bit arrogant, but that's another thing). There's nothing wrong with petitioning for a recording of a show that has been important to a small but devoted following. Whether it will or will not work is another story entirely.

I signed and I pray it happens! I really can’t stand Cats but this production should live on in some form.

No one (at least not me) said, or implied that the change.org petition was arrogant.

It's hard not to miss that your posts (both recent and past) also acknowledge elements of QuizKing's behavior as being arrogant, though.

Re: CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Reviews

The album will release in the winter on Atlantic Records. ALW will produce alongside the Grammy-nominated Alana da Fonseca. Full company is hitting the studio later this month, I would assume post-closure.

Cast recording thread to come once we have a digital release date.

Also, it's being strangely billed at the moment as an Original Broadway Cast Recording. You don't see this at all with revivals.

Well, it is CATS: The Jellice Ball and not just CATS -- and it's pretty clear there's a difference. Regardless of the nomenclature, I'm thrilled it's happening.

Some a--holes on here really owe you an apology.

Thank you for making the petition and lobbying on behalf of the fans who wanted to see this cast recording happen.

Sure…because THATS the reason ALW is paying for one. An online petition that 2000 people signed. Let’s be realistic here.

Re: CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Reviews

Never in a million years did I think I would be spending the better part of a month vociferously advocating for a cast recording of a show I spend most of my life avoiding.

When I get DMs from cast and production alike thanking me and my crack team of petitioners, I know we accomplished something huge.

AND NOW EVERY SUMMER IS SKIMBLESHANKS SUMMER!!!!

And yet...?

If people didn't make it an issue of this, the cast recording wouldn't be happening. There's no financial reason for it. The licensing prospects of this production are low.

I guess a large portion of a cast album and why most take so long is mixing it…I don’t know how cast recording are usually done maybe it’s the band/orchestra first followed then the cast, but with this schedule hopefully we get a release date sooner than we think

Girl, what is there to even be negative about in relation to this news and the work that went into making it happen?

I don’t know how long mixing and mastering takes but lead time for vinyl production is between 4-6 months. A winter release makes sense.

Congrats quizking for being a part of making this happen!!
