I feel like there have been plenty of statements made by cast, creative, people involved with the show and not that they do not need to be making tonight about anything but this show and those who worked so hard to get them to this place.

Some people are shocked that the problems that plague every industry on Earth actually plagues Broadway as well. Shocking... I know.

Intermission. B Noel is on for Bustopher. Tons of entrance applause.

Queen Latifah guest judge. Tugger adlibbed “When you’re good to mama” to Queen when he got up on the table.

leiomy (Macacity) switched a line: “There’s a man over there / who just closed out our show.” It got some “Ohhhhh!”’s.

I'm sure we're all expecting that.

Re: CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Reviews

I will never understand how this lost the Tony for best revival and how/why the producers couldn’t figure out how to run this longer.

agreed.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

And I will never understand how Dudney Joseph Jr. was snubbed of a Tony nomination for Munkustrap.

The pulsating, chanting heart of this JELLICLE BALL.

Because the economics of running a Broadway show are ****ed up.

It was an expensive show that needed a large cast without deep pocketed investors.

Re: CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Reviews

There were no speeches at curtain call.

Sydney Harcourt shared on IG he’d be going to the Eagle post-show; he skipped out on celebrating with the cast, creatives, and crew at their closing party.

He didn’t skip the closing party, The Eagle was “the afters” which famously are *after* the party.

…so were you actually there, or just going off the usual connotation of the terminology used?

Re: CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Reviews

Andre did pushups on his entrance.

Lots of ovations throughout the night, but the longest (I think) went to Junior LaBeija at his entrance. Bryson did a great job holding it together.

At the beginning of Macavity, Bebe sang "U.N.I.T.Y. that's Macavity".

Lots of tears from the company, particularly in the last 15-20 minutes.

As mentioned, no speeches at curtain call, but Munkustrap extended the curtain call for shoutouts to many of the creative team, including Omari and Arturo, Zhailon and Bill, and Qween Jean (who brought her Tony).

It was a beautiful closing for a beautiful show.

Part of me wanted to go (I did get an invite), but I had nothing in my system left after this day to walk the two blocks, let alone schlep to the Eagle 😆

What was also bonkers was that people were still trying to stage door for André at, like, 1:30am.

To be fair, I was there one night where he did fall hard coming down the steps from the throne. Even when in shape, old knees can be a m*ther***ker

Re: CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Reviews

Ohhh it appears Sydney may have let the role go to his head...

When I saw the show in previews they had taken out the kiss due to illness at the time but I was confused when it still didn't happen when I saw it a few weeks ago...

This sheds a bit of light on it, from Silk's Story on Insta

He also did the worm on Wednesday night. Primo and Baby stopped dead in their choreo from the pure shock of it all. They were equally amazed, worried, and shook.

I was front row and when he started doing the pushups and my jaw DROPPED
