I love musical theatre but I'm ashamed to admit that there are some CD's I don't own (or have never heard).

Sweeney Todd
South Pacifc
Mame
OBC Evita

jczelyph I love the signature. I don't know if you're making fun of it but every time I here that line I laugh at it.

Sum, it is my all time, world's favourite, best ever, American Idol winning, grand slam, knockout, funniest, worst line from a musical ever.

I crack a smile every time he says it. And yes, I am making fun of it. It is absolutely hideous, and I'm surprised less people have it as their signature.

MFL: Ditto on the Mame. I should have my theatre card taken away.

*Guys and Dolls (OBC)
*Little Me
*Full Monty
*Raisin

Cast Albums I never heard/bothered to listen to samples:
*South Pacific
*Oklahoma
*Carousel
*Hello Dolly
*Big River
*The Wiz
*Girl Crazy
*The Pajama Game

and so much more *hides from the theater geek police in fear*

EDIT: I recently borrowed the Meerily We Roll Along OBC recording from my local library. It kicks arse.

oh Truffle, don't be scared of the theatre Nazis. If they come for you, just throw copies of Wicked and RENT at them. They'll scuttle back to the dark ages then.

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. XDXDXD I'd imagine that would be painful. I'm somewhat of a theater nazu myself, but not really.

Oh GirlforTartaglia, you must get Aida. It's super. And the concept album version is ace too (if only for the Boyz II Men version of 'Not Me').

Well, I don't *own* a lot of CDs, but I'll list shows I haven't seen, or heard the entire score of:
-Follies
-A Little Night Music
-Mame
-Porgy and Bess

I should be boiled in my own pudding, I know.

broadwaystar2b-Yes, you are an horrible person to the theater community and society...hide from the theater police while you can (that was sarcasm, btw). I purchased the Gypsy (OBC) recording a few months back. Tis truly awesome. Since I saw a B'way production w/ Bernadette, I'm thinking of buying that recording as well.

Elizabeth-Thank you for reminding me. I have yet to hear A Little Night Music

Holy Mercy is that her??? Goddess! Mind you, she doesn't look black. Isn't she black? She just looks slightly too foundationed. Like a drag queen. She seemed darker skinned when I saw her on some DVD. Oh god, I can't believe I just disrespected Jennifer Holliday by likening her to a drag queen.

i admit that i don't own a single sondheim show.

"I'm Glad I'm Not Young Anymore." While I miss the smooth skin, the lack of dark spots on my face and hands and my 30inch waist...I don't miss the "being embarassed."
