Liam Neeson is being considered for the Camelot revival. Who else would you like to see cast?

I'd love to see Mary Testa as Morgan LeFay.

Not a fan of this show, despite some beautiful melodies. I saw the Paper Mill CAMELOT last year and despite some beautiful sets and performances from Brent Barrett & Matt Bogart, thought the show ponderous and surprisingly sour and unpleasant.

Elijah Wood as Mordred.

I saw the Papermill CAMELOT, and I just had to say that I thought that Bogart was a bit over the top- I heard him slip into a Scottish accent by accident at the time, I don't think that he had a very good grasp on the 'French-ness' of Lancelot. He wasn't very consistent. But I LOVED Brent Barrett as King Arthur!

I don't have any of my own ideas for the revival- but I love CAMELOT, and I can't wait to see how that would go! Liam Neeson...hmm...

I thoroughly dislike this show as it is traditionally presented. The music is mostly gorgeous, but the book just sucks, and it's difficult to get it to all work right. For this revival, I'd like to see the director COMPLETELY reinvent it. I saw this show at the Tennessee Repertory Theater a few years ago and it had been deconstructed, reconstructed, stripped down, and for someone who really dislikes the show, I was amazed by it. It was almost thrilling!! So, if it's gonna be done, do something WILDLY different with it.

As far as cast....
I really like Liam as Arthur!

I like Angela Christian's look & voice for Guinevere, but next to Liam, she'd look like a child.

Emily Skinner as Morgan le Fey

can't think of anyone else at the moment...

Terrence Mann comes to be Arthur opposite
Max von Essens' Lancelot and
Kerry Butler's Guenevere

Hamlet's father.

Ack... Emily would be a waste as Morgan... she's in like one scene! Marty Testa would be a waste, too.

If they do this show they need to get permission to do some serious work on the book which is dreadful. And get rid of those Elizabethean-period sets and costumes they seem to use in every production. The tale of King Arthur takes places in the 6th Century!!! The movie EXCALIBUR at least got the visuals right even if the film had other problems.

She would be on fire... but, I, for one, would rather see her ON FIRE in *many* scenes in another show that would showcase her talents better. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Camelot

I'm more interested in Spamelot (the Monty Python Holy Grail musical). I hear the Camelot producers are already upset at the title as both shows will be opening in the same season.

OMG! NOOOOO... NOT Natasha! That would be like a complete repeat of her MOTHER as Guenevere. That was a train wreck... I love Ms. Redgrave more than the next person, but the woman butchered all the songs... as will Natasha. Please, the powers that be... DONT DO THAT!

I actually can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd like to see Sutton's take on Guenevere. She *did* play the part regionally... she has the right feistiness for the part. It's not a typical soprano ingenue role... I don't want to see Laura Benanti in it. I don't think she's got a fiery enough presence to do the role justice. I think she'd be 'fine', but I think Sutton could do far more with it, acting wise, of course.

I love Camelot. I played Guenevere in high school.. it was my best theatrical experience during that point in my life. Fun times.

Liam I could def see as Arthur although I'm not quite sure of his singing voice. As much as I think Kerry is adorable I don't think she has the type of voice for Guenevere. Laura Benanti would be superb! I am also not quite sure if Natasha has a strong enough voice..remember Julie Andrews was the original. Usually it is more of an opera soprano although It also would be a good change to get a more belty voicere: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Camelot
I believe the book to be wonderful. The first act pulls you through the joys of the marriage of Arthur and Guen and tricks u into believing that it will turn out all right. In act 2 you are presented with a darker and more dramatic twist of events. Can't wait for this revival!!

Anybody remember the fact that Audra did the reading of Camelot at Roundabout a couple of years ago?

Hmmmmmm...

OMG... I didn't even THINK of Audra. Now SHE'S someone I'd like to see as Guenevere... she's got the right pipes and the right dynamic.

Harvey Fierstein should be Morgan Le Fey. How hilarious would that be?

And Bea Arthur as King Arthur. Ann Heche could be Lancelot, but she'd probably change to playing Guenevere halfway through the rin.

LOL good one Mister Matt!

I do agree that Audra would be wonderful. I think Hugh Jackman is a great singer and great actor as well!! After seeing his Oklahoma performance and the praise he got for not only his singing voice but his character as well, I would LOVE to see him as Lancelot...VERY easy on the eyes and we know the acting and singing would be all set
