Any word on cast recordings for Gypsy or Redwood? Surprised there hasn't been announcements for either give the leading ladies.
GYPSY has been recorded; mixing / editing / post-production is going on as we speak. Instrumental tracks were laid down for REDWOOD sometime last week, but I'm not sure if/when the vocalists have come in as of now.
Both cast albums (and more) will likely be released in the days and weeks leading up to the Tonys. Stay tuned.

Do we think there will be a new recording of Sondheim's Old Friends with Bernadette and Lea?

Will they use AI to make Audra sound like she can sing the score and not sound like a mouse on the money notes?

Let's use AI to make you wittier and less rude.

Not trying to be witty my darling. Just curious if they will give her volume on the recording that she can’t manage in the theatre when she has to belt the notes as written.

What a nasty spirit you have. I saw Audra in November and she was thrilling.

I’d just prefer that they cast a Rose who can sing the score appropriately. I love Audra, but this ain’t it.
I think the cast recording will prove that, except for the odd moment, Audra is giving the single best vocal performance we’ve ever heard of a Rose. I’ve been studying her performance for months and months and it’s amazing how ferocious and thick her vocals are when needed (thicker than Patti’s voice) while also having the vulnerability you would get from Bernadette in the quieter songs. It is like an encyclopaedia of complexity and I always wonder who people are thinking of vocally if they don’t like Audra because her voice is stronger and thicker than Patti’s, Bernadette’s, Satunton’, Tyne’s, Angela’s and well if we’re now back to 1959 we don’t have a Time Machine.
What’s also crazy is that she is doing this live every night of the week. I acknowledge that she still has a while to go but Patti and Bernadette both did not sound this good live every night.

Maybe Happy Ending’s cast album CD release date is Friday May 16th with vinyl coming out a little bit after that.
Does anyone know if Tammy Faye recorded an album and we’re going to have another Lestat on our hands? I seem to recall photos of the ensemble in a recording studio, but it’s possible they were just recording sweetener tracks and not an album.
Hard to believe we got Your Lie in April cast album released before Death Note. It’s like Wildhorn is trolling: “of course I’m releasing the recording of my anime melodrama musical! Just… not the one you expected.”
