He will lead the show during the summer in Chichester. Considering its and his history, a West End transfer wouldn't be shocking. Great piece of casting!

He should be great! I might take a trip to London to see this and a few other shows that I've been wanting to see. I'm still waiting for the Broadway revival with Tony Yazbeck, who knows when that will happen...

Susan Stroman directing, they must have the West End in sight.

When my goodbye post was removed: “but I had a great dramatic finish!!!!”

Assuming this is an extension of the concert version that was stalking Broadway. Maybe a hit in the West End might drum up some further interest for Broadway.

Charlie is perfect for this.

It has much of the team she was working with for the Broadway revival (Boritt, Ivey long, Billington, Besterman). Joey Parnes & co. could not raise the money for Broadway, so maybe this will fare better.

This artwork looks like a revival of STARLIGHT EXPRESS. Or GERSHWIN: A SPACE ODYSSEY.

I mean he's too young (it's been 10 years since Bobby left Harvard, and he's been engaged to Irene for 5 years).  The whole idea is that his mother is fed up with his dreams, and that he finally has to settle for a life at the bank, as he's getting too old.  That doesn't work when he's in his 20s (and arguably Stemp looks a lot younger).

Some very minor book changes could solve any issues with the character's age.

In 2022, there's something less palatable about a guy in his 40s being a "playboy"...it's less sympathetic and a little creepy. A 28 y.o. Bobby is probably going to play better than Tony Yazbeck, who turns 43 next week. Harry Groener and Jim Walton were in their early 40s, and Kirby Ward (original London) was about 33.

Oh are they updating the setting to 2022?

Not that I know of but audience sensibilities have certainly changed in the 30 years since the OBC.

Charlie has to bring this to the States. We've been Stemp-free for too long!

I'd be way more excited if Charlie was doing a revival of "Me and My Girl"

Hopefully if "Crazy For You" is revived in NYC, it will be with Tony Yazbeck.
