So I guess that we can assume from this that he won't be with Falsettos for more than 4 or 5 months.

Isn't falsettos a limited run anyway?

That's a long gap between August and March. Could another show come in? Either a play or holiday show.

Borle is really doing great job avoiding long spurts of unemployment. It's nice to always have him on the boards though.

I believe that it's an open run.

I'm not his hugest fan, but this is great casting.

There is, of course, the possibility that Borle will withdraw from Falsettos to concentrate exclusively on this.

God, I hope that doesn't happen. Borle was perfectly cast in Falsettos. Isn't Falsettos a limited run to January anyway?

The press release for Falsettos makes no mention of a closing date, and because it is being co-produced by a commercial entity, there's no reason to assume that it will be a limited run.

The initial press releases say nothing of a limited run, and that previews begin in September with opening night being October 27th.
That being said, I'd sooner gamble that he would drop FALSETTOS to focus on CHARLIE, since he would being going into rehearsals and performing through opening and then about 2.5 months later, he would depart.
This is also taking into consideration the possibility that FALSETTOS doesn't tank and close in January, thus freeing Borle anyway.

Is falsettos going into the Vivian Beaumont? Or is this like woman on the verge a nervous which was also a co-production between Lincoln center and a commercial producer and played a commercial theatre?

Falsettos will play at the Kerr.

What a shame if he chose this over Falsettos.
He's perfect for Marvin.

Maybe Borle is looking into the crystal ball and seeing that Falsettos is going to be a limited run whether it likes it or not. (That doesn't say anything into quality, but who know how general interest will be, really.)
I see The Illusionists maybe coming back for a limited run, it would be their third Nederlander theatre in as many Broadway seasons, but they sell, so they're an easy temp.

They could also be planning to use the Lunt-Fontanne for a holiday engagement, like a return of Elf or A Christmas Story. Or perhaps the theater needs those 6 months to prepare for Charlie and nothing will be coming in.

August through March is a long time to be empty, so I'm sure they have something in mind.

From your lips to a producers ears! I'd LOVE if Christmas Story came back. I know that's off topic, but I had to throw some Christmas Story love out there.

Just the fact that this was one of the largest shows EVER in the West End, makes me think that the theatre will need some time to prep. So I think that the theatre won't have anything come in and just spend time making sure that everything is ready when it comes time to load in for Charlie

Even if they have a return holiday engagement that ends its run on 1/1/17, that still gives them nearly three months to prep for Charlie. That way, the theater won't sit empty and dark for six months in the interim.
If Great Comet can do to the Imperial what they are doing in under a month, I assume Charlie can pull off a three-month prep/load in.

According to Jeremy Gerards (who broke the story) twitter page, Borle is in fact, still doing Falsettos

Jeremy Gerard didn't "break the story", an embargoed press release was sent out.
