Yup. Broadway.com lists this as its closing date.

Looks like it's all worked out and we don't need to concern ourselves with it. www.broadwayworld.com/article/Christian-Borle-Will-Juggle-Both-FALSETTOS-and-CHARLIE-AND-THE-CHOCOLATE-FACTORY-20160509
Agreeing with others, not a huge Borle fan but I think it is a very good casting move. I just wish he'd stop giving us those Broderick/Lane "I'm taking a media photo but really don't want to be here" shots.

"Borle is really doing great job avoiding long spurts of unemployment. It's nice to always have him on the boards though."
Damn, right? Good for him though. And it makes me more interested in this show.
We were completely charmed and entertained by ACT I in London, loaded with all sorts of original ideas and visual conceits. Unfortunately we were then bored out of our minds by ACT II with its incessant parade of scenes directly ripped off from the Depp movie. Ugly cumbersome set piece after set piece clogged up the stage for most of ACT II, and all those lovely family relationships established so sweetly in ACT I were mostly thrown out the window. We pray that any production that comes to B'way won't sacrifice even MORE of ACT I to leave room for an even more bloated ACT II.
And somehow the set that should have been the most amazing, the Chocolate River Room, iconic from the film, was the worst set on stage!
Agree, Tag. It was an abomination through and through.

That looks very similar to the sets of the community theater productions I used to do when I was a kid...
I know nothing about the London production but this has the potential to be such a creative and inventive show. I hope the reworking does it justice.
Just to be clear, even though I dissed the Chocolate River Room, the production design (sets, costumes, lighting) were seriously amazing and inventive for this show.

But that's THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE!! Glad to hear the rest of the design was good, though. :) I have faith they'll get the design right at least. Whether the show ends up being any good, we shall see!
Up there with Ghost as one of the worst shows I've ever seen, the first Act was long, dull and boring, but act two topped it in the long dull techno color night mare that wouldn't end. Borle deserves better than this!
The only way to fix this is start with a new story, design, music everything

Everyone needs to forget London.. This is a NEW production.,.
N E W....
and Borle was attached to this way before he decided to do Falsettos.
Does that mean maybe they'll wise up and include more stuff from the movie? (At this point, either movie would do.)
Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, I hope they don't incorporate anything from the 2005 movie. 1971 or bust.

Borle seems well cast in both Falsettos and Charlie, but I find him so offputting for a reason I can't put my finger on. I'm really excited about Falsettos, and as a repeated audience member of Matilda, I'm curious about Charlie since many UK theatre folks who love Matilda seem to like Charlie quite a lot, too. Hopefully I can let go of my Borle aversion and transforms into his characters well for these shows.
I'm really liking these promos. If they're able to translate the essence of these on the stage show, I definitely see the show becoming popular with kids.

Do we know if we're getting the squirrels from the book or the swans from the original movie? I don't really have a preference, was just curious.
I think it's safe to assume that the original book will be the source with elements from both feature films incorporated.

I had read that the main changes they're planning on is incorporating more elements and songs from the 1971 movie (which despite being hated by Roald Dahl, is widely loved in America and to many, possibly MOST Americans, is THE definitive version of the story), but I was hoping that meant like "I've Got a Golden Ticket" and the "Candy Man" song at the beginning. In fact, I'm fully expecting them to do Candy Man in the opening - that song's a standard.
But that promo worries me a bit in that it ends with whistling of the 1971 Oompa Loompa songs. Is this implying all the unique Oompa Loompa songs in the West End version will be gutted and replaced by the 1971 film versions, which all share the exact same tune? I hope not. There are elements of all versions of teh story I love and dislike, and while I do have a great fondness for the 1971 film, I'd much prefer the Oompa Loompa's songs all be different rather than hearing the same song with different lyrics 4 times.
Was Jackie Hoffman's casting ever officially confirmed? I want a vlog...

I am still sad they seem to be using adults for all the kid roles - except for Charlie. I am assuming they will hire four boys as they did in London with Charlie and with Billy Elliott- and as they did with four girls for Matilda.
As a rule, I am not a fan of 34 year olds playing teenagers...and less fond of young adults playing kids. It just grates on my last nerve. I am sure it's cheaper to not use kids but I wish that was changing too.

They used kids for the kid roles in London
Kathy-I'm guessing those adults were just for the workshop. I can't imagine casting real adults for kid roles

Hopefully I am wrong but I remember speaking to a parent of a 12 year old girl who is an actress and the mom was disappointed that they are not using kids for the other roles...
I guess we wait and see...
