So let me start out with saying that Chenoweth says shes doing a show or a project as often as I have my morning coffee so I always take these things from her with a grain of salt. But at her show yesterday, she talked about Laura and said she hopes to work with her one day and then when they were onstage together, she said they were working on something together. So it was a bit confusing and I put it out of my mind. But I started thinking today that the musical Cheno has been most vocal lately about wanting to do (Death Becomes Her), how that would be fantastic for the two of them.
Again, I have no idea what she was talking about but, as she probably wanted, Im here talking about it. lol
Is there a creative team for Death Becomes Her yet? When Universal announced it as "in the works" in 2017 there was still no book writer, composter or lyricist involved but somehow Chenoweth was already cast as Madeline.
I think Cheno said on “Watch What Happens Live” or something like that very recently that she’s working on the show now.
Death Becomes her was my first thought, too. It’s probably wishful thinking, but damn that would be fabulous.
Just the thought of these 2 ladies playing mortal enemies and then unlikely companions makes this homosexual so happy!
Death Becomes Her? I. WOULD. DIE.
It would be the biggest diva-off since WAR PAINT

Honestly, they are the perfect duo for a Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? musical. Despite the fact that they both (or at least Benanti) are too young, they type in to the roles perfectly.
"Working on something" could always mean a concert, or an album, or a TV series, or an online thing –– or something other than a book musical starring both ladies.
True. It could always be a Smash revival with Borle and Messing recast.

Was also there Saturday and I too was unsure about her comments. She went from a feeling of “I got a little secret” to “oh, I just know we’ll work together someday”. The latter being her typical Cheno hopeful non-announcement. I really wish something is in the works for the stage.
I was thinking Soapdish
I was there on Saturday too. My takeaway was that she was just saying she was hoping to work with Benanti sometime. Her interludes talking to the audience seemed scattered, so maybe im chalking it up to that. That said, Benanti and her daughter were a highlight of show that was already great and I’m glad I didn’t miss.
