who else has this? It's wonderful, and yes it's in english. I have all the Chess cd's and this is my favorite.
The Danish recording of CHESS is my favorite as well. I listen to it often.
I love the Danish version, but my favorite is the UK Tour CD with Rebecca Storm.
The Danish recording is great, but it's, like, impossible to find. I've looked all over E-Bay and the various Amazons to no avail. It just came out in 2001. You think it would be more commercially available.

I adore Rebecca Storm in the UK tour recording, but for my money no one beats Judy Kuhn...
wonderwaiter - It is strange that it's out of print already. It was actually issued twice...The 2nd time it was reissued they removed a track and added a remix of "One Night In Bangkok" on it.

Auditioning (or anyone), do you have the original issue of the Danish CD? There are a few tracks that accidentally made it onto that disc that were never supposed to be released- it's incredibly rare.
I looked for a week trying to find a place to buy the Danish CD. I couldn't find it, so I gave up and ordered the London concept. Two days later I stumbled across:

I want it, but I don't know that I can bring myself to spend that much plus whatever it costs to ship it from the UK.
If anyone has the original release of the Danish CD, PM me. I'd love to know how you came across it.

^^ Hey Insomniak, what tracks are they? I bought mine pretty quickly when it came it out.
Anyway, I too find this recording to be definitive. It's not the best collection of Chess vocalists on record, but it's overall the best representation of the show.

If it says 'cut' in parentheses, it's not on the later releases. If you've got the cut songs on your CD, you're the owner of a rare item.

insomniak - Yes, I must have the original pressing. I don't have the one with the remix on it.

Ooooh... *jealous* What I wouldn't give for a copy of that!
Wow, I guess I have the earlier version too...no remix!

I can't believe they cut five songs from it...I thought it was just one for some reason...
By the way, Insomniak, to answer your question about how I came across it -- I ordered it from Footlight Records the second I saw it for the first time.

I got mine at Footlight too. This was back when they have the store on East 12th.
Yep. Ordered mine the instant it appeared on Footlight's website. I have the rare one too. Does anyone know why those songs were not supposed to be released?
mine doesn't have the remix either. It was a gift so can't say where it came from.
And the original Hebrew cast recording (there are two different cast albums- there was a new one done in the 90's) of My Fair Lady is the definitive one. Rivka Zohar in the title role sings circles around Julie's thin soprano.

You know what's crazy? I did a search on Dress Circle and didn't find it there either. Thanks for the direct link!
Very tempted to buy this... if only I hadn't already spent my Christmas money!
I agree, thanks for the direct link to where you can buy it.

IMO, "Pity the Child" works best in the second act. Otherwise, yeah, that seems pretty definitive.

You're all welcome.
I don't know WHY they weren't supposed to be released... I just remember reading that it was a mistake. I'm curious to know myself; if I find anything I'll post it.

I wish i had a more complete recording. I just bought the 86 with Paige and Korberg the other day.
