I haven't seen a definitive posting on this on the board (other than rumors a while back), but amazon.com is showing the Broadway cast recording of Chitty to be available on November 8, 2005! Can't wait to hear it. Also, in another thread, someone said they were paying $25 for the London cast recording of Chitty. Please note that you can get the London version on amazon.com for $13.99 (a sale price, at least as of today). Search for "chitty" on amazon.com, and you'll find both.
11-8-2005 UPDATE: As we later learned, this is the London cast recording. The online merchants mistakenly listed it as the Broadway cast when it was announced a month or two ago.

It's on Barnes and Noble as well.
... but as far as I can find out, has not been recorded YET. That's a fast turn-around period, be it truth.

Some of us need our fix of Raul Esparza(!) and Marc Kudisch and Kevin Cahoon and Chip Zien (no word on Erin Dilly and Jan Maxwell, since I don't have any recordings of theirs), and we can't get it live, because we live too far away! If amazon is messing with me, there will be some serious angry-letter-writing on my part.
