Anyone attending previews for PARAMOUR? I hadn't realized it started previews tonight at the Lyric!

Financially, I can't make it to NY anytime soon, but I hope this goes well! I have been a fan of Jeremy Kushnier's since he was Tommy in Jersey Boys on Tour in Toronto in 2006/2007. Great to see another Canadian back on Broadway, and only learning his role in less than 2 weeks!

There has been chillingly little hype for this show, especially considering that it's in the largest Broadway house.

Prove me wrong but it seems like it will be like 'Around the World in 80 Musicals' with circus tricks intergrated into every mumber.
Should play a game--guess the show and best place to throw in a gymnast [or 12].

Their NYC based shows have been very non-spectacle, which seems anti-their brand. After seeing O in Vegas, they need a giminc to get it going.

the set reminds me of an awards show. From other posts it looks like they aren't using playbill which seems strange.

Time will tell how good it is. Maybe a Playbill will be used after it opens.

The gimic is the more typical Broadway-esque plot-driven style show. That's all there is too it.

Surely this will pull in the tourists who can't get into Hamilton or one of the other shows.

After the other 35 shows currently playing on b'way?
I have no feeling on Cirque....other than: the first one you see is by far the best.

They can't actually be expecting to profit on this with the rumored 25 million price tag.
It would need to run forever and a day.

Exactly. That's not a good gimic. Don't pander to the theater crowd. Just make a good show! Doesn't have to be golden age based etc.

How do people not know how to start a sentence with an uppercase letter or end a sentence with proper punctuation like a question mark?

on a message board, I'd rather be guilty of it ... where INFORMAL WRITING IS ACCEPTABLE ... than not knowing how to spell an incredibly simple and basic word.

Misspelling a word is definitely a sin in my book, but calling out someone for misspelling a word is by far a worse thing to do. Unless one legitimately does not know what a "gimic" is, why bother asking, other than being sanctimonious? I think it's important to confront people who think it's ok to be rude just because we are on a message board and not in speaking in person. There is no reason why we cannot have civility on these boards.

if you are calling out someone for writing "gimic" instead of "gimmick," which is not slightly but completely different, then you are doing the person a favor. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. cheers
