Very excited about this!
It's not totally out of nowhere - this production already played the Old Vic in London, and high-profile British production often play BAM. That said, I wasn't expecting it, and it's a very exciting surprise!

True. But considering how high profile these names are, not to mention Warchus who is incredibly in-demand, I’m surprised this got announced without any noticeable early goss.
I personally can’t wait!

Posted: 12/17/19 at 10:37pmI saw this in London, it’s good, not great. It’s wonderful to watch those two actors work together live, it’s just the two of them on stage the entire time. It’s quite short with no interval. There is on stage seating, or at least there was in London.

Posted: 12/18/19 at 2:05pmI was lucky enough to see it in London too, and thought it was the best thing I saw that trip. Very funny, moving, and beautifully acted. I’ll be out of town for the BAM run, so I’m so glad I was able to see it then, but I’m glad New York audiences are getting the chance!

I tried to get tickets for this just now when general sales started and by the time I was out of the queue, every show was sold out. I had contemplated becoming a member but wasn't sure it was worth it for one show. I guess it was.

It's a bit confusing, but today is AMEX pre-sale. I was able to get tix without a problem. There still looks to be plenty available. The trick is you need to put in the code "AXPEVENT" into the promo code slot, and that opens everything up. Then you would obviously need to use an AMEX card. Tix ranged from $45-$250 for a Saturday night. Was able to get a $65 ticket for full view in the rear orchestra (partial view in rear orchestra was $52).
Hope this helps!

Thank you that is helpful. Looks like general sales start on Tuesday and not today. So I still have some hope.

No problem! Still looks to be plenty of tickets available, no idea if that will stay until Tuesday, but doesn't look like an instant sell out.

I purchased my tickets last night through the Amex presale that supersam1026 mentioned without any issues. I was very surprised to see that there are six rows of on stage seating added ranging in price from $95 - $225. I can’t recall seeing anything at the Harvey where they had on stage seating. It should make for a more intimate evening.
For those who enjoy on stage seating, the last row seems to provide some value because you’re six rows from the actors paying $95 (weeknight) vs $155 for a non premium orchestra seat.

Ghosts at BAM in 2015 definitely had on-stage seating. If I remember correctly, they were cheap too.

Posted: 2/8/20 at 11:22am“Ghosts” had onstage seating? Where? The entire set was the house, I don’t remember anything like that.

The link to BAM mentions "on-stage cushion seats" for Ghosts. I honestly don't remember.

Posted: 2/8/20 at 11:40amHow odd. I guess Lesley Manville giving one of the greatest stage performances I’ve ever seen, just made me not notice that.

IIRC, it wasn't a production-specific thing. I think it's a thing that BAM sometimes did/does for sold out performances. Because of the shape of the theatre with the semi-thrust area, some productions with traditional proscenium set designs didn't need to use that excess space in front of the stage, so BAM sold them as floor-seats. I'm not sure if they still do it - it's been a long time since I've seen anyone sitting on cushions at the Harvey. But that also might be because a lot of the productions I've seen either weren't sold out enough, or the set design utilized that "thrust" space, so there was no room for floor cushions.

Thanks very much for the password - chose two lovely seats for April. From what I can tell, good tickets are still available but it was definitely thinning out. For those interested in going, I would book ASAP.

Posted: 2/8/20 at 8:33pmThis sounds fantastic! I was able to get tickets via the Amex presale. How is the upper orchestra? Is it like a mezz? I purchased obstructive view.

Posted: 2/8/20 at 10:11pmIt’s like the Richard Rogers where there is stadium seating in the rear orchestra but there are giant pillars that might obstruct your view.

For those interested, tickets are now on sale to the general public. I was able to get a cheap seat in the balcony for an April performance.

The site seemed pretty open about which tickets were obstructed view. A lot of the aisle seats in Upper Orchestra were listed as Obstructed View.
I'm not very familiar with this theater and can only get to Brooklyn on weekends so I splurged for an Orchestra seat about halfway back. Cost was $155 + fees. I'm very excited to see this!
