This is my problem with Lenk. "Being Alive" should be the take away but it's not. It's Lupone "Ladies Who Lunch." I'm a HUGE Lupone fan but should walk out talking about the Bobbie. And you don't.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I did too, in hindsight belting out Being Alive is probably an obvious choice, which is why I found Lenk’s more introspective take to be much more powerful than I was expecting. Rosalie Craig tried the belting approach IMO but it didn’t work because she just didn’t have the voice. Lenk’s take was so much more layered and complex (for the whole show really). I miss the show so much.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Matt Wall has been playing David this week. Jeff Kready & Nic Rodriquez also cover David. With Britney Coleman playing Bobbie Tuesday & Wednesday, they should really have Jeff go on as David those days to be opposite Nikki as Jenny.
FYI, last night they went with just 3 New Yorkers - Anisha, Jeff & Nic. Kathryn was out but likely watching the show as she's debuting as Jenny this weekend.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Is that why Patti was in the tic tick seen dressed as one of the Bobbies? I've seen this production 3 times in NY and never noticed that before...

Patti has always been in that scene, and gets a generous crowd response for it.
Nicholas Rodriguez is making is debut as Paul today and tomorrow, so Benson's out. That means they're down to just Kready as a male New Yorker (and Anisha as the sole female one).
Damn. Jennifer Simard just posted in her stories that she's positive and will be out 10 days, so Kathryn Allison will on as Sarah (and maybe not as the reverend as she posted yesterday?)
They also have Paige Faure. Kathryn Allison will be playing Sarah this weekend with Coleman as Jenny now.
Bobbie - Nikki Renee Daniels
Paul - Nic Rodriquez
Sarah - Kathryn Allison
Jenny - Britney Coleman
David - Matt Wall
Harry - Tally Sessions
Theo - Heath Saunders
Jaime - Javier Ignacio
New Yorkers - Jeff Kready, Anisha & Paige Faure?
OUT: Lenk, Chris Sieber, Chris Fitzgerald, Jennifer Simard, Etai Benson, Matt Doyle, Manu Narayan, Jacob Dickey
Situation seems similar to Come From Away's outbreak in December. 8 out of the 12 main cast members all came down with COVID, then the following week all the standbys tested positive and performances got cancelled. Let's hope that's not the same for Company.

Wow, I’m glad I caught the show last night when Simard was in! She’s still terrifically funny, somehow turning every line into a laugh.
Nikki is a fabulous Bobbie. I’m part of the pro-Lenk set, but Nikki’s take is very different- far more warm and effusive, rather than Lenk’s introspective and cool. And her voice is simply beautiful- “Being Alive” received a standing ovation.
The swings and understudies in this production are some of the best on Broadway, but I can only imagine how exhausting this is getting for them, and how worrisome it is seeing their cast mates again having to call out for over a week at a time.
So upset to hear about Simard. Traveling from Maryland today to see the matinee to catch Nikki (and Patti since I saw Simard’s first Joanne) and I was so looking forward to seeing Simard in her normal role as you guys have so many good things to say about her. I loved Kathryn last time, but DARN!
Hunter: Your teeth need whitening./ Heidi: You sound weird./ Jeff: You taste funny.

I absolutely did.

If you go back to page 17, and especially 18, there's some discussion of it from 2 days ago.
Also, Kathryn Allison announced she's debuting as the reverend for the first time tomorrow and Sunday. (I would guess she's playing Jenny too?) Maybe to give Britney a chance to observe and prep for Bobbie on Tuesday?
Katrina also made a very classy post praising Nikki and the understudies.

This is today's understudy list minus Paige going on. Guess they don't really need the New Yorkers as much as I thought.

The only parts they’d absolutely need New Yorkers for are to play the main Bobbie double at the end of act one and in Tick Tock (Anisha’s track) and as the waiter in the club scene (Javier). Otherwise they fill in Another Hundred People and the club scene.
