Robyn Hurder posted on her IG [stories] that despite SMASH closing so quickly, she has something lined up that she'll announce shortly. Helen alternate?

Rashidra Scott? Can't think of many shows outside of Sunset that had legitimate alternates this season but I could be missing a big one.

She is back to summer stock with Max Clayton in Maine. Broadway job one day..survival job the next.
Simard is out again tonight. Dee will be doing every show this week except the Saturday matinee. NOTE: no Friday night show, they added a Sunday evening instead

Maybe the easiest thing to do is just post when Jennifer Simard is actually ON.

She went on a good streak of not calling out after the Tony Awards. Now she's been mostly out since Friday.
FYI, Michelle Williams is also out tonight.
Natalie will be making her Madeline debut this Saturday for the matinee.

Hilty's leave is now scheduled to run through 7/9 so she should be back 7/10. She's not doing Tuesday evenings, Wednesday matinees, and Saturday matinees through July 19th.

May I asked where you got this info? I want to pass it onto a friend who is trying to see her when she’s first back. Thank you! :)

It's on the show's page on BroadwayDirect, under the casting section.

There's also a note on the ticketing page for each performance she's out (that Tuesday, Wednesday matinee, the Saturday matinees).
Thanks for flagging—another round of exchange it is for me!

i'd guess and say that stays Hilty's schedule going forward.

Did anyone see Natalie Charlé Ellis go on as Madeline yesterday?
As someone who LOVES Megan Hilty's performance -- but who has also seen Dee Roscioli go on (OK), as well as Kaleigh Cronin (terrific), I'd love to hear your thoughts on Natalie's Madeline.
I did not *see* her, but she sounded gorgeous. I keep saying this, but imagine understudying both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked and knocking both tracks out of the park. That’s what Natalie just accomplished!

The audio is easy enough to find. From "For the Gaze" alone she wasted no time making the song and the part her own, putting her own stamp on them, and sounded like she was having a blast doing so. I can only imagine how thrilling it must have been to witness.

whats up with this? Are new Broadway shows being written where it’s impossible for the leads to do all 8 shows? Or has it always been impossible and finally the leads have said, nope, not gonna do it, it’s impossible?
Yeah, it seems bizarre to me that they would write a show that is completely and totally impossible to perform 8 times a week but it seems that's what happened here (?)

With the physicality they're being asked to do and in many shows the vocal demands they're asked to do 8 times a week. I'd say the demands are more, but also working conditions that put the actor's wellbeing at more of the forefront. Like its standard in many places in the world that leads have alternates and in some instances almost entire alternate casts.

I love this show. Think it will do great on the road.

She does sound great, but my Lord, the hooting and whooping after every other lyric and the crazed applause before certain gags are even revealed - audiences are truly exhausting.
I partly blame TikTok ironically, which is where I heard it.
Enjoy the show and applaud / cheer when called for, by all means. But this PICK ME level of attention seeking is wild. Chill OUT.
We all know musicals are not written these days for vocal health. Audiences want high notes, belting, and vocally exciting scores. That’s what the modern ear yearns for these days.
I think the standard that was set in the past and still expected is just not realistic for most actors, who just like any athlete, needs to rest and rehabilitate their muscles.
I hope broadway will start to seriously consider a better and healthier way forward for everyone.
I thought working conditions in the theatre were supposed to be better post covid? Remember all that talk? I guess that hasn’t happened. And now Scott Rudin is coming back to probably so it REALLY didn’t happen
