Pffft...the producers of Chicago would never, NEVER I SAY, bring in a name for a role for which the actor was not suiterd. Poppycock and balderdash.
maybe not now. as mentioned already, he'll likely be rejoining H2S on July 3 for the summer when Jonas is finished. Criss can do Chicago in summer 2013.
Look. this is his moment. He's very cute (don't be a hater, don't hate Crisstians, it's not our fault), he's very talented, he was extremely engaging as Finch, he sold millions of dollars worth of tickets, and many of us will welcome him back.
Why can't he stay away from Broadway?
I like him, but he acknowledged himself that his voice wasn't suited for broadway... this move wouldn't make any sense and this casting choice is just weird.
Anyway, I've been bored with Chicago for quite a long time now, so this is kinda making it exciting at the same time. Not saying I want him to play Billy Flynn...

Oh, look at all the haters!
You do realize that the more you hate, the more it proofs that Criss is getting more popular and successful. Haters gonna hate right?
Yeah, it really proofs a lot.
Because people think he would be wrong for this RUMORED role, makes them HATERS? (And many people that saw him, thought he was substandard in How To, you can't say it's just becaue he's 'not b'way', as after clips of Jonas, people are interested.)
I have no opinion on the boy, I've never seen him perform; but just because one is talented, doesn't mean they are suited for the b'way stage.
I still hate Crisstians!

Jen Namoff, one of H2$ producers, confirmed on tweeter that Darren will NOT be in this show.
Now, it will make sense if it comes from Darren's management team or agent. But why would a H2$ producer know or involve in this? I smell something is cooking... My bet is that Darren will return to H2$ during Glee's summer hiatus for another short run.

Saying Darren's not suit for the role doesn't mean people are haters. I personally don't think he's suit for the role either.
But if you can read, there are many haters on this board. Why can't he stay away from Broadway? You own it? He can return whenever he wants as long as there are producers want him and people want to see him.
You personally have not seen it, so how can you judge, just based on a few reviewers here?
I have seen him 3x, in 2nd end of the week, he was fantastic. Some people have seen the first few shows and the last few shows and noticed a dramatic improvement.

Since I was the one who said that he should stay away from Broadway, I'll tell you what I think about your post.
First, I think dramamama611 made it clear that since he hasn't seen him in How to succeed, he doesn't have «an opinion on the boy», so he's clearly not judging... he's only stating a fact. Not everybody is made for the stage.
You clearly think Darren is and you are intitled to your opinion, but someone saying he isn't is as valid an opinion as your own.
I have also seen him in his 2nd week and I was disappointed in him. I am not a hater. I love him in Glee and I like his covers. But my opinion is that while he is charming, he's not a great actor at all. I thought Daniel, who's not even a singer or a dancer did a much better job than him.
Why do I want him to stay away from broadway? I like him, but not in a broadway project. I would much prefer to see him do other things that suits him better. Also, I get that it's good for broadway in a way, because he is making sell more tickets, but I really can't stand the screaming girls. It's just annoying and not something I want when I go see a broadway show.
Anyway, this is my opinion.

I replied to dramamama611 because s/he said that by voicing that the Chicago role's not suit for Darren, that doesn't mean the people are haters. True. But I just want to point him/her out that there ARE haters on this boards.
Sure you can voice your opinion, so was I. You think he was a great actor, I thought he was fantastic in that role. It's just matter of taste. But just because you don't like him on Broadway, that doesn't mean he should stay away from Broadway. Why, because people who appreciate his talent will go see him. If you don't like it, just don't go.
And I find people usually like to exaggerate the screaming girls effect. I'm not one myself, but I have no problem with them. Other than they clapping louder after each number, they didn't scream in between the show (as far as the 3 shows I saw).
Again, don't like it, don't go. Darren can still do Broadway whenever he likes it and whenever there are producers want him and people like to see him.

PalJoey,
What about casting Rachel Berry as Mama Morton? She'd become the definitive "Mama".
No just no! Enough is enough, I was on board with Joey Lawrence, Usher and even Wayne Brady but this is crossing the line. I can't take this crazy casting any longer. How old is her 20? He is not old enough to play a well established highly profiled crooked lawyer. None of these other men I thought were that great of ideas but this has got to be thee worst! Why not bring Sofia Vergara back as Mama. She can sing it but boy was her acting horrendous.

The general response to this news seems to bad, I don't think its all that terrible, there are worse people that I could think of. There having been some casting decisions in the UK this year that have almost made my ears bleed !!!
