I saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for the first time tonight after listening to it and watching clips on my computer for months. It must have been a strange night because it was Monday and Norbert was out.
During the song "Love is My Legs" right before the very last word in the pause, Sheri starts to cough. Not just a little cough, but she keeps on coughing. Then she giggles a little and is ok to finish the song, but keeps coughing after.
In the next scene John Lithgow messes up a word and says me instead of you and Sheri couldn't contain herself so she started to laugh again. Soooo funny.
Joanna did something during one song too, but I can't remember what it was. I love real live bloopers!!!
You saw DRS tonight? How can you see the show on a dark day O.o
They have a different schedule for the holiday week.
i'm really hoping norbert gets better soon, because i'm dragging a bunch of friends down to see DRS on the 26th and have been telling them about how fantastic he is...i'll be so bummed if he's out!

really? thanks
its sorta hard to see though, ill try and fix that...
or wait, is this a sarcastic remark? sorry i dunno :)
I find it hard to believe Joe Cassidy was BETTER than Norbs...Norbs OWNED that role.
Wow what a compliment for Joe!
I'm not sure I would say better, but he really does a great job and nobody will be disappointed in seeing him. Norbert is better at certain aspects but Joe is as well...I've actually found that I think Joe is a better singer than Norbert...*ducks tomatoes*
I saw Joe Cassidy as Andre and he was fabulous. And while I'm sure Joe is great as Freddy, Norbert was/is brilliant in the role.
Wicked blooper from Sat night had David Ayers tell Elphaba he'd been thinking a lot about the "Lion King." After his co-stars laughed at him, he realized what he had said and amended it to "lion cub." I don't think the scene ever really made it back after that. They couldn't stop laughing, though they were trying to stop, you could tell.
When I saw DRS it was with Joe Cassidy as Freddy and he was great! I had really wanted to see Norbert but I actually preferred Cassidy to the OBC recording. *ducks flying tomatoes* :)
When I saw DRS in June Sherie and Norbert started cracking up during one of the scenes. They were trying their hardest to get it back together but when one would stop laughing the other would start up again. The scene was about 8 minutes longer than it should have been because of it, soo funny. :)
Thats odd..wasn't the holiday schedule going into effect next week with a Mon 8pm show and a double show next Friday?
Wickedrentq...I really like how you support Joe (go DRS ensemble!) but I have heard him sing and while he is very, very good, he lacks the range that Norbert has.
*shrug* I avoided holiday shows/schedules and such, but I'm sure this person isn't lying about seeing the show Monday so that's what I imagined.
What did you hear him sing? I saw him in Feeling Electric and I thought he displayed a really big range on that...hit the high notes last time I saw him in DRN...
Yeah I heard him in Feeling Electric too. Thats why I said he can sing very, very well. I think range was the wrong word. What I meant is that I have heard Norbert sing so many different song styles (ie Sinatra-esque in TSN, rock opera in Rent). Joe hasn't been in enough yet to offer a fair comparasion methinks. But I agree he is definitely a great understudy because people rave about him. I must see him!
So if you're staying you can't compare the styles b/c you haven't heard Joe enough, what exactly are you arguing?
::feels the need to add for the record she absolutely adores Norbert in the role, voted for him bway star of the year, etc:
Oh nothing. I just would like to hear more of his other work. What has he done besides Feeling Electric and DRS?
the holiday schedule is in effect this week. check playbill.com
I guess no one really knows and that's why the mezz was sooo empty.
