WOW! That's show biz!

I think you might have meant to post this on the OT board.

At least that definitely frees up Steve Pasquale for FAR FROM HEAVEN--really hoping he does that show.

Ever since ER went off the air that Thursday night time spot on NBC has been a death knell.
What does this have to do with theatre?
Well, wasn't the premise of this rather Jekyll and Hyde? THAT'S coming to the Great White Way. After that, I got nothing.
Is this on the Broadway board b/c Steven Pasquale is married to a Tony Winnner? That all I got.
I believe Lin-Manuel Miranda was also a character on the show.
And yet Raul on SVU is discussed on the OT board
But yeah, of course it was getting cancelled. It made history and not the good kind.
Oh no, not Dr. Facehands.

Wasn't there something very similar last season, when a man had two different realities whenever he fell asleep? That show tanked, too.
I don't see the hub bub about it being on this board! Come on people, Smash and Glee are regularly bandied about here as are many other updates about theatre stars making tv appearances. Sometimes the 2 worlds overlap- get over it! It's unfortunate Raul on SVU was missed on the board, he was deliciously slimy on it! Not only were Steven, and Lyn on the show so was Phyliscia Rashad (sorry if I buthered the spelling). Not surprised this mid-season gamble didn't pay off, don't see much of a need for a modernized Jekyll/Hyde show. I enjoyed the bad writing and appreciated the fact it was set in Philly and not NYC. Another one bites the dust. I suppose the fact that should shock us all is that the project attracted such talent in the first place. Would love to see them all back on the boards soon!
Also sorry I butchered the word "butchered" ah, irony!

Steven Pasquale has done loads of off-Broadway musicals, was in Reasons To Be Pretty on Broadway, was the original Fabrizio in LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA in Seattle etc. It's not like he's never done any theatre at all...
@wonkit Yes, there was. It was called "Perception" staring Eric McCormack. It was on TNT. I am not sure if it was picked up for Season 2. I have a feeling it was filmed before he was in "Best Man" last summer.
At the risk of pushing the "which is the appropriate board" issue- so it isn't missed Laura Bell Bundy made a cute cameo apperance as a Kesha-esque character on Reba Mcentire's new, little watched sitcom, "Malibu Country". To clarify why this is relevant on the "Broadway Board", Laura has many Broadway credits including leading roles in "Hairspray" and her Tony nominated, and televised performance as Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde: the Musical", it should also be noted Lily Tomlin had a legendary Broadway run, and Reba herself replaced Bernadette Peters in "Annie Get Your Gun" and was in the televised concert of "South Pacific" as Nellie. Appropriate- I think so!

No, the show wonkit was referring to was Awake on NBC, starring Jason Isaacs, BD Wong, and Cherry Jones.
bjh is correct! The Eric McCormack show was about a guy in some profession relating to the law, he had some sort of personality disorder that led him to be socailly awkward. Didn't watch it, that's what I gathered from previews, not sure if it got picked up.
Actually, I think the show that was in the Do No Harm slot last year was Awake with Jason Isaacs. Do No Harm wasn't exactly ground breaking but it was fun. Steven Pasquale, Lin Manuel Miranda, Michael Esper, Phylicia Rashad, it was a good cast but ah well.
Oh and Laura Bell Bundy is pretty much a regular on Hart of Dixie now, they were talking about having her sing, she's done a "burlesque" (jumping out of a cake and dancing)routine so far.

Also, to continue with Philly's point, in the winter of 1932, A.A. Milne's play "They Don't Mean Any Harm" played on Broadway.
There was also that show MY OWN WORST ENEMY starring Christian Slater that got cancelled pretty quickly as well.
I remember that Slater show- the theme song was "Tank!" by the Seatbelts!
