i had to bump this so that everyone can see the crack that happened onstage at the BAT last night.... absolutely crazy. it ranks up there with my all-time favorite understudy shows ever.

Does anyone know if it's confirmed that Constantine will be out again tonight? I'm dying to catch either of the Jeremys as Drew, and who knows when I'll get another chance to find out in advance!

I saw Don as Hertz on Monday. I have to say that I was not impressed. I've seen Paul (of course) and both Tad and Michael as understudies in the role, and I'd take any of them over Don. The majority (maybe all) of the people I was with, there were 10 of us total on monday, did not like him. His performance was campy and his accent was horrid.

How was everyone else, especially the other relatively new people? Eric Sciotto? Becca Tobin?

I think he needs a week or so in the show before we can compare him.

Eric was really really good. I think he only had like 2 weeks of time to learn his tracks. He was pretty much spot on with his dancing and lines, his tranny voice needs work tho, very creepy.
Becca was good. I've seen her as waitress #1 but never as Young Groupie, but she did a good job.
It was funny because everyone but the understudies messed up last night. :)

JP: anyone else out besides Constantine?
i'm going to give Don the benefit of the doubt, it was his first show. my first impression was not positive, but we'll see what happens with him over time

Don's first show was Monday??? Wow I thought he was absolutely awesome! One of the best of the night, don't know how you didn't like???
Must say too that Savannah Wise and Michele Mais were just excellent for me. Michele's voice in particular is very unique and special and perfect for the part. Love her long hair too!!!

Mark_E: i had been told by some of the cast that Don played Hertz meaner than Paul. So I was expecting to be blown away, and I wasn't. Overall, his performance was solid, for a first show, there were only slight line flubs (which could just be interpretation), and no issues with hitting marks, i just didn't care for the performance.

Tad was on for Dennis.
I thought Don was fantastic. It's a completely different Hurtz. Not as foreboding. More goofy. Even his hair is different. His delivery of some of the lines had me in stitches.
And, as always, Jeremy Jordan was unbelievable.

Saw the Tuesday night show ~ it was absolutely fantastic.
Jeremy Jordan was vocally incredible as Drew. Doesn't have Constantine's comic chops though.
Tad Wilson was very good as Dennis. Not as outrageous as I thought he was going to be, but still good.
Don Stephenson was pretty disappointing as Hertz. He's not bad, but nothing compared to Paul. Would rather see Tad or Michael Minarik take over the role until Paul comes back.
MITCH JARVIS IS GOD.

I saw the show on Monday. It was a great show except for when some fangirls started standing up during Here I Go Again, no offense, as I assume these fangirls are here in this thread.
The understudy for Drew was awesome. I liked him so much better than Constantine who I've seen twice.
Savannah was good but mehh. I was at the first preview so I saw Amy Spanger, who I thought was good. I love her in the cast recording.
I think they need to bring Kelli Barrett to this immediately. She was the only Sherry, out of 3 that I've seen, that just suits the role..as if the role was made for her.
Had fun and I still love RoA but the show was better Off-Bway.

I saw the show both Monday and Tuesday night. I noticed a few missed cues by Jeremy Jordan.
As a Constantine fan, I was disappointed he was not in the show.
The rest of the cast is great, but it doesn't quite make up for it for me.
Mitch is awesome. Love James Carp.
Savannah's last day is the 13th. So is Wesley's. I think Tad, too.
I would like to come to NYC to see the show again, but now I am worried Constantine will be out again.
I did hear that he will be out on Sept 5th, which is a Saturday and is Labor Day Weekend.
I wish their dark day was Monday. That way, the cast would get a break after all those weekend shows.

Is their Strobe lights used in the show? My GF can't be around strobe lights for a long time.

Is it used alot? If it's just for a short period of time she should be ok

they are used throughout the show. the first song of the 2nd act uses them for at least a full minute during a dance sequence, if not longer than that.

I saw & enjoyed Don's performance last night.
A bit different but a great job.
Tad was perfect as Dennis- I'm going to miss him when he leaves.
I'm not sure who Mitch decided to give the Playbill holding freak line to- but he started laughing hysterically during it.
....Another FANTASTIC show!!
& there is something different about the lighters- I like the old ones better.
