I'm headed to New York for the first time in October and I really want to see Rock of Ages! Is it safe to wait and get tickets upon arrival or should I get them ahead of time?
I would get them asap. they are operating around 98% capacity each night and the last tickets sold are partial view... you want good seats for this one :)
I did the lotto for yesterdays matinee(32 seats available)...there was 3 of us, one of us won so they got 2 seats then the other one did rush seats and I have to say the one who did the rush seats got a better seat (he got to sit next to the sound board so he basically was center)
And it wasn't student rush, it was just rush...also in the lotto the person who is pulled first got to sit in the front row on the left side (it was 2 senior citizens ladies yesterday)

I believe the cast is contracted until Spring 2010 (except for Wesley Taylor) so he should be there when you go. I'm sure others would be able to give more input on this.
Wicked Tour (2/26/08); Wicked Bway (7/1/08); HAIR (7/1/09); Rock of Ages (7/2/09); Wicked Bway (7/3/09); Mary Poppins Tour (8/2/09); Wicked Tour (11/18/09); Wicked Tour (12/5/09)
I think I'm going to see it again before September, because my good friend just got the cast recording and really wants to see the show!
